I use cruise control religiously because I have a lead foot. If I don't do it, chances are I'm going to get a ticket.

 

Me too. My daily commute is exclusively state Hwys in IN and KY, all through rural areas. If I don't pay attention on SR145/37 in Indiana and US60 in KY, I will realize I'm flat out flying. Can't use the cruise control on HWYs 259, 401 or 84 though. All are way to curvy for me to not have to slow down for any length of time.

I never use cruise control.

 

I love my cruise control almost as much as I love my dogs.

For me, cruise control is only beneficial if you don't have to keep setting it, disengaging it, and then resetting it all the time. So, if the flow of traffic is 73, then that's what I'm setting it at. If it's 78...then, I'm there too. (I'll draw the line around 80 however, but honestly have never really experienced the "flow" being that fast anyway.) My best case scenario would be if nobody passes me, and I don't pass anyone else either.

I usually do 80 to 85. Cops usually go after the ones doing 90.

I will drive faster than that if there is somebody in front of me going faster. I will let the faster car get well ahead of me and watch their brake lights. Don't be the fastest car on the road is my rule.

Fair enough. I usually hover just below 80 if the speed limit is 70 when driving on rural interstate.

 

I usually keep it around 6 over. 8-9 if it's a light traffic flow. Cruise control set when possible.

If I'm being honest, I'm usually doing 80 in a 70 on the interstate. Cruise control all the way, hate when people don't use it.

I'm with most here, 5mph over the limit whether on cruise control or not.

 

But some day, I sure would love to drive on the unrestricted speed stretches of the German autobahn.

I was never a big ticket writer but when I did some interstate enforcement I preferred to wait for vehicles doing 20 over. If it was a slow day (pun definitely intended) I would go with 15 over as my starting point.

This is why I usually keep it at 10 over... More often than not, I can go 10 over and MANY cars still blow past me...

I only gamble when I am 95 percent certain I will come out ahead. In other words, don't ever expect to find me in the casino. Or to answer another way, no I don't gamble
