Just Jim
This was the best video I could find. Sportscenter top 10. Go to the 1:30 mark. How is this runner not called out for being outside the lines? I always thought there was a 3 foot rule out side the normal baseline for runners. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXUBHjynbIg
Clyde
3 foot rule is established when there is a play being made on the runner. So when the catcher went to tag the runner the 3 foot lane was established. Not always easy to determine. When the catcher reached to tag was the runner more than 3 feet away? If you say no then it looks like you re-establish the 3 foot rule when the catcher lunges the 2nd time at the runner behind the plate.

Just Jim
And, I think he was way outside of 3 feet. The catcher initially tried to tag while on the line in front of home plate. The runner then ended up way behind the plate (in the grass).
