We just purchased some bamboo from there. It was being installed when the 60 minutes episode aired. It would have been backward if we had chosen their installers. Since mine is bamboo should I be concerned?

Ousted by 25 year old med school drop out who researched LL suppliers. He was tipped off by the high gross profit, and noticed something was fishy. Looks like ole LL tried to pull a fast one. Shame....

You're fine. Depending on the style of bamboo, very little, if any formaldehyde is used in the manufacturing process. When we have the extra cash, we plan on putting down the strand bamboo throughout our first floor. At the time of doing the basement, I thought laminate would be the best option. The kids' playroom is down there, along with a bath tub for dog baths, therefore, mud, playdoh, moon sand, etc. would be easy to cleanup. I even spent the extra money on an underlayment so I could put down laminate without any issues.

Is it manufactured in China? Also, I don't know if the vinyl has the same problems as the laminate, but I'd check into it to be safe.

If she can't get LL to take it back for a refund, what are her options? What is her first step?

I would try taking it back. I know someone else who is looking to do the same. Unfortunately, mine is already down. However, I financed mine, so I'm debating on disputing the remaining balance.

I've got about 500 square feet of LL laminate in my basement that I installed about 5 years ago, and about 150sq feet in my dining room that's 10 years old. I didn't see the story.....how far back does this problem go??

Don't know yet. All tests were done on purchases made this past year.

Then the flooring recently sold by LL, except in CA, was sold by the current accepted national standards. If so, then this is another hacket job by the mainstream media. While they did refer to the CA standards, they did not explain fully the situation to those who may not ask about the difference. Misleading by omission of the difference between CA standards and current national standards, which will soon be the national standards.

Well the 60 Minutes segment I watched mentioned multiple times that the CA standards were being adopted as the national standards. And the majority of the segment was about how flooring sold in California did not meet the California standards.
