And the majority of the segment was about how flooring sold in California did not meet the California standards. Then LL has a problem in CA. Those in the rest of the country may now have concerns, but the national standards will be on LL side. What is the rational for the new standards?

I don't know what the old national standards are but it's possible LL still violated them. Rationale for the new standards? How about the fact that high levels of formaldehyde have been known to cause cancer and that's not a good thing.

LL would be protected by the old national standards, which is what we need to find out. I have not been able to find anything. Also, what has been found out to make the standards tougher? Yes, formaldehyde causes cancer, but did we not know that under the old standards. Just need more info.
March 6, 201511 yr A co-worker's daughter just bought a couple grand worth of laminate from LL that was in fact made in China. She hasn't opened any of it yet. If she can't get LL to take it back for a refund, what are her options? What is her first step? We had 30 days to return unused boxes. They were opened for conditioning and I had no issues with the return. They charged us 20% restocking fee.
March 6, 201511 yr Is it manufactured in China? Also, I don't know if the vinyl has the same problems as the laminate, but I'd check into it to be safe. It is. I'll have to check into it's manufacture.
