I wouldn't count out a Bourbon County team.

 

Bourbon is an interesting team.

 

I don't think people give them credit for how good their 2012 and 2013 teams really were. That 2013 team especially was in my opinion the 2nd best 3A team in the state.

 

Last year I think they got derailed by key injuries and graduation decimated their line play and they took a step back.

 

There is no doubt Bourbon will have elite talent at the skill spots, but in the 4A East the question remains the exact same as when they were opposite Belfry in 3A.

 

Can Bourbon put together a defense to stop a power running game?

Does Bourbon have the players up front to compete?

 

Everyone is high on South Warren moving up but I think Bourbon's program is in the same boat. Both have the potential to thrive as they grow.. but both still has to show me something to think they can compete with and beat teams like John Hardin and Johnson Central.

With North Oldham losing Arien Beasley and some others, what do they have returning? They had a very good defense also -- what did they lose there?

Johnson Central and John Hardins to lose. It's these two, then the rest.

Lost 20 of 22 starters or something along those lines didn't they? They'll be back in the mix. Always are. Here is guessing they have a ridiculous schedule. They could be a 4-6, 5-5 District Champ or 2 seed and be a handful come playoffs.

Not quite that many starters but a good number of them, will return some key positions on defense, a few Skill and Line positions on Offense , and have some quality younger guys ready to step up, Schedule is definately not easy with Evansville Harrison, Owensboro, and McCracken to start off with and other tough games throughout. Hopkinsville and Madisonville will compete for the district championship but the Region is rough as always with most of the Warren County schools, Allen County, and Franklin Simpson.

I think they return something like 8 starters each way including their top offensive threats, their top two defensive players, and their All-State Kicker.

John will be right back in the thick of things next year like they always are, but however good they are next year...it's just going to be that much worse for everybody else in 16 and 17.

I would like to know who has transferred as well. What I like about the schedule this year is that they will play each other. Should make for a good night of football Sep. 25th.

That's interesting. So how many have transferred? Are they good players?

South Warren returns something like 21 starters and all 11 guys who started their State-Semi game on D are back.

They will be good they return some young kids.

Collins came back to earth after learning that life without multiple DI-A skill players and 15-20 third year starters is a little tougher.

Collins is definitely in the 5-10 range. They are extremely talented but John Hardin will be their roadblock. Collins my be able to get out to the Region Championship but they will not have the horses to run with JH.
