I'm not sold on the South Warren title just yet. The games I watched last year their competition in 3a was nowhere near the competition they will see in 4a. I think they will be good, but I see really young team in Franklin that will give them a run for their money based on speed and athletisim alone. That being said I think John Hardin, Johnson Central will be good and Madisonville lost to much to make a run this year.

Not saying they don't have a chance, but if you were doing a preseason ranking you have to look at what happened in the previous year and what each has returning. Football is a funny game and left to be played on the field. Stranger things have happened. Baker is solid, as is O'Bryan, but the battle in the trenches would favor JC and that has been the difference the past two times.

I admittedly don't know as much about teams around the State in 4A as I would like, but one thing I can say with certainty is that Franklin is not better than South Warren. Especially with more and more of their players transferring down the street to South Warrens team...

Madisonville lost a great senior group, they will have to reload and win some games before being a top 5 team in the state again.

 

Lost 20 of 22 starters or something along those lines didn't they? They'll be back in the mix. Always are. Here is guessing they have a ridiculous schedule. They could be a 4-6, 5-5 District Champ or 2 seed and be a handful come playoffs.

Just being curious but what made you put Russell County in the top 10. They were last in their district. Do they have a nice young class coming up?

Unfortunately, I don't believe they do. I think last year was a peek into the next year or two. Somebody closer to the program feel free to correct me, but I don't think they won but 2-3 games last year on the JV, 9th and 8th grades combined.

 

Always been a fan of Coach Sharp and Russell County. Those 11,12 & 13 teams were locked and loaded. Those teams get the new realignment and they're playing on Thanksgiving Friday a couple times at least.

That's interesting. So how many have transferred? Are they good players?

4A may be the hardest class to rank a top 10

I believe that Johnson Central is the early favorite on the East side. Ashland will have to get over that hurdle. I expect these two teams to play twice this year.

I wouldn't count out a Bourbon County team.
