I figured Mayfield, and desales to be a preseason tossup for no. 1. I figured desales should get the nod since they are the defending champ in this particular class. Now that I see the numbers id be embarrassed if I was a desales fan, and didn't win the title with those numbers. It really shouldn't be close, but for some reason I think Mayfield will give them a descent game if they happen to both make it that far.

Mayfield dresses plenty. Mayfield will give any team in 2A all they want. It's really to early to say exactly how this team will be except they will be young but talented on the line. The main thing is that all teams travel west.

What does the # of kids on a roster have to do with the talent of the top 30 kids on the team who will see the field? De Sales and Mayfield will both be very good in that sweet spot.

33 more last year, that was a surprise to me

 

Numbers is probably one of the biggest advantages Mayfield had in Class A. Along with tradition, talent, and coaching lol. It wil be interesting to see how they stack up in AA, and I'm sure they are ready and looking forward to the challenge

I bet the toughest man in Louisville is tougher than the toughest man in a town with a population 0f 200.

I don't understand the comparisons here. 1st, Texas and Kentucky have such a huge disparity in population that it is nowhere near comparable to comparing 2 teams in the same classification.

 

2nd, Mayfield has a tradition that no other school outside of Trinity, X, or Highlands can match. The Cardinal's history draws talent to it and makes them the biggest show in town. Graves Co. has gotten better, but it is still Mayfield's area. De Sales is the 6th best team in Louisville. They are very talented, but they are not getting the best of the best in the city. 1-30 or 40, I bet that they are very comparable in talent.

Yeah I've heard of them the locals I've talked to say they are both pretty good, and that the Paducah Tilghman or something like that is good, but the few I've talked to in these parts say Caldwell county is the best small school, followed by Mayfield.

He said Mayfield is on the downslide, and Caldwell is the best around now. What classes are these 2, and who would you say is better. I just figured about 4 telling me Caldwell, and 1 saying Mayfield id go with what the 4 said.

Caldwell had a great offense, w/ an outstanding QB. They kept their defense on the bus quite a bit. Mayfield is better all day, every day with the exception of 2013.

I encourage you to venture out from the princeton area, and ask that question again. Since 2010, Mayfield leads the entire state of Kentucky in wins, with 71, and winning percentage...which stands right now at 94.7% (71-4)

Caldwell, in the same 5 years, has won only 46 games (18 losses)...which is a winning % of 71.9...

Murray has a better winning percentage than Caldwell (76.5)...im just saying that you are asking the wrong people.
