The enrollment according to the school is 954. That would put them in 4-A in KY. NO, they would not beat Highlands. I would say they wouldn't beat Owensboro High School (runners-up) either.

Voice go to google and type in Shelby High School NC hudl highlights. The teams they play are TURRIBLE as Barkley would put it. Don't get me wrong Shelby is athletic, but NO WAY they beat X, T, Highlands, or Male. NO WAY. ALL FOUR teams would be them 10/10 times. Maybe one game might be close. I would say they couldn't beat Bowling Green, Owensboro, Lex Cath, McCracken Co. or even Boyle Co.

If Runion is going to be the starting Qb for Llyod, I personally wouldn't look for to much. Not trying to be smart, but he was brought down last year to play against NCC freshman team, and pretty much was a non factor. It's a whole different ball game when you play against varsity as to freshman. I know the young man is a decent player, so we will see what he brings to varsity as a starting qb.

On paper, your top 3 may look right, but I have learned over the past 5 years to never underestimate Mayfield.

Thanks! Definetly not underestimating. I can tell you at DeSales we respect Mayfield and what they have done but we are not intimidated. I know for a fact we'd love to play them. And hopefully that's what we'll get come November!

I dunno. Trinity runs 6A for the most part and nobody seems to like that.

 

 

Anyway, I would place the top three like so:

 

DeSales

Mayfield

CAL

 

but any one of them is capable of taking the title.

I like the Desales talk. Let'em be preseason 1. Let'em believe that little ole Mayfield can't compete at the 2A level. Please KHSAA please don't put us in the big bad 2A level, the level where we already were and won five state titles. That's 3 more titles in 2A than what Desales has. I will take Mayfield vs. the field this year. Mayfield will be better this year than last year, at the end of the year. Some growing pains early perhaps.

I never said can't compete. I don't understand you mayfield fans? Posting like you have a chip on your shoulder and most of the time no ones even insulting you. I was simply saying that Desales and CAL will Defintely be an upgrade in competition for mayfield come play off time.
