  1. Put a team like Mayfield, or Desales against Shelby, and Shelby would be up by 40 at half.
  2. No they cant beat North Carolinas 4 best teams not even close, My team was Shelby they are 2a have a lot of titles top 50 in the nation in all time wins, and could beat any 5a or smaller Kentucky team. The only team that would beat them is trinity, but it would be a close game. North Carolina even has a better college basketball team to.
  3. Sometimes comparing scores is a bad way to do it, but not really nothing else to use especially since I aint got a clue what these teams lost, and returned.
  4. I also see that glascow beat green county pretty handily last year. Since green county beat Campbellsville, along with Danville, I would find it unlikely they would beat all 3 this year, unless all 3 of those lost a lot of talent this year.
  5. Don't know much about most of the teams they play, but a quick look at maxpreps, I saw they got beat by 2 of those opponents last year. They were Danville, and green co. Id be curious to what those 2 return since both beat Campbellsville by about 40.
  6. Not hard to research teams from past years with sites like this, maxpreps, and others to see schedules, and results. I cant agree that 3 east was strong up until last year. Breathitt, and bourbon were just not as strong as claimed period.
  7. You are a nut. It doesn't take someone with 20/20 to see that the east side of 3a has been weak for years. Only takes about 5 minutes of research to see that that side of the bracket has been garbage. Truth be told 3a as a whole has been garbage in Kentucky, but guess im used to north Carolina football. The 1a champ in NC would whip the Kentucky 3a champ by 30 most years. I could take a girls basketball team, put them in pads, and they would beat belfry.
  8. Looks good to me able to make someone miss, and by time. Descent arm. He doesn't seem super fast, but fast enough, plus he seems to have great vision, and pick the right hole. This team is close by I may have to check trigg out this year.
  9. 5th in all time wins is awesome, and especially 12 titles
  10. I prefer small school ball, so Mayfield sounds alittle better as long as its within an hour of confederate id be willing to make the drive. Lyon county unfortunately doesn't play football. Looks to me like I have talked to some Caldwell county homers. Looks to me like Mayfield usually crushes them, and when Caldwell wins its a dogfight. What classes are these 2 so I don't have to look them up again. Id rather drive 20 minutes extra for good ball. Do either team go deep in the playoffs much, I want to still be watching football in late November. I do think I seen Mayfield had won a couple recent titles. I like a school with tradition like the 1 I used to watch back home.
  11. My knowledge is very limited of Kentucky high school football, just learning who is strong. If I wanted to stir id say something like north Carolina high school football is way better than it is in Kentucky, which wouldn't be a lie.
  12. The first I talked to in this area told me Mayfield hands down, but I had about 3 or 4 since say Caldwell, when I asked 1 of them he said Mayfield used to dominate us years ago now we have made a habit out of whipping them like hot apple butter." He said Mayfield is on the downslide, and Caldwell is the best around now. What classes are these 2, and who would you say is better. I just figured about 4 telling me Caldwell, and 1 saying Mayfield id go with what the 4 said.
  13. Well im sorry im not sure how you pronounced that school with 2 names, just remember it was weird.
  14. Yeah I've heard of them the locals I've talked to say they are both pretty good, and that the Paducah Tilghman or something like that is good, but the few I've talked to in these parts say Caldwell county is the best small school, followed by Mayfield.
  15. Might not be the best comparison, but still same principle that more numbers means more talent, but I agree the difference in the same class is neglidgable, and besides you have to play in the class you are in no excuses. I lived in north Carolina, but now im in Kentucky, can anyone help me out to pick a good place to watch high school ball at. I prefer small town atmosphere a to aaa don't know who to watch that is good. In the area of lake barkley.
  16. Cause the top 30 out of 90 should be better than the top 30 out of 50. If you do an all star team texas versus Kentucky high school kids who wins. My guess is the team with the most to pick from even though both teams has 11 on the field and only 20-30 see the field. I bet the toughest man in Louisville is tougher than the toughest man in a town with a population 0f 200.
  17. I figured Mayfield, and desales to be a preseason tossup for no. 1. I figured desales should get the nod since they are the defending champ in this particular class. Now that I see the numbers id be embarrassed if I was a desales fan, and didn't win the title with those numbers. It really shouldn't be close, but for some reason I think Mayfield will give them a descent game if they happen to both make it that far.
  18. The west should be tough in 3a. I see belfry making it to the finals most years as the east is very weak, but bell, and corbin will make it alittle stronger than it has been.
  19. Beechwood will win class a this year, if all players come out for football.
  20. This looks about right to me on where beechwood was these years. 10 and 12 beechwood was definitely 2nd best behind only Mayfield. 14 id say beechwood and Williamsburg about even for the 2nd spot.
  21. Pretty good top 10, but I'd have DeSales at no. 1
