Does he have plans on heading North? Young man seems motivated and happy at PC and has a coach with D1 experience and connections.

Really glad the young man is back healthy. He broke his wrist on a pretty ugly fall in their game with Garrard County over Christmas break. Wasn't sure if he'd get to play anymore this season. He's a very impressive player. And I'm very impressed with Belcher, as much personally as I am with his coaching.

Well, it's unusual if nothing else. 34 by a middle schooler in a HS game isn't that common. I say good for him.

Can't wait to watch him come to the Fieldhouse and play. Does he play as a big man down low? Or can he come out to the perimeter and hit a jump shot. 34 points as an 8th grader is awesome regardless.

Both!! from what I have seen this season he can post up, but he can also really stroke it from 3. Great wing player. And has the hops to throw it down with ease. And hes only an 8th grader :eek:

I'm not as confident as LCD, but if I had to say right now, I think he's back.

He is a great player and I can not wait to watch him grow!

Dontaie Allen is not a hold back. He just turned 14...a few months ago. He isn't a older 8th grader...he is the same age as his classmates.

6'3" and 170lbs

 

If he has a birthday in October or November, he is an older 8th grader. Do the simple Math... He has a birthday in the first few months of school, with 6 months of birthdays to go after that.

 

Not that this matters. He is of appropriate 8th grade age.

 

Still impressive what he did, EVEN if he was a freshman, but as a legit 8th grader. That is a job well done!

I am unsure, as I don't know the kid at all, but I am told by someone much closer to the situation than I, that his parents did NOT both attend Drake and play ball.

 

Although, not surprising if true, and really has no matter. Just adding to the previous poster who stated that.

Dad dontaie smith played 2000-01 at drake. I will confirm mother name, but my understanding was that they met while they were both playing at drake....
