Both of you have proven you know zip about how the recruiting process works, so can you please tags this to personal messaging and stop cluttering the board?

D1 scouts and coaches etc don't just show up at spring practices out of the blue, they show up because they want to see a particular player.

 

The 2 you talk about may be going back and forth but to say that some on here don't know anything about recruiting is silly. Just sayin

Recruiting is my job. I was only referring to those two, not the board. And I am right. I've said in a prior post what I thought of the Ryle kid, but yes, D1 coaches do just show up to see. They wander into schools all the time, it's their job. Does not mean an offer is coming, means they want to take a look. No different than attending a junior day.

I thought according to a certain SK fan that Powell had all kind of Colleges interested in him. I saw 0 colleges listed next to his name. Hmmmm

Let me try this and hopefully people can see this for what it is. I assume that these are career numbers. Pretty obvious that England's stats are for one year only. Could someone break these numbers down by opponent. Without a doubt all are quality running backs based upon the numbers, but what about the competition level for each? What was the running back situation at said school? I do not see Stringer's name on this list and that would be because he had to share time at Beechwood. There are no kids from Highlands because they do not have just one running back that gets the ball 20-25 times a game and in many cases someone has to wait their turn. The same thing can be said about running backs at CovCath. Heck probably their best back last year was playing defense. In these cases, numbers really do not mean anything when evaluating a kids ability to play or not play at the next level. College coaches evaluate these kids on film and in person at camps and such and if they are really interested they will show up on campus to watch practice or a game live.

 

Question is do any of these kids have an offer on the table as yet? Not attempting to belittle rather just curious. Everyone can argue for their kid, but truth is the numbers would be different if they played at other schools. Smith played at NCC as a frosh, would he have played at Ryle, Simon Kenton, Cooper, Highlands, CovCath or Beechwood? England played varsity as a frosh at a different position and would he have played more as a running back at NCC, Cooper, SK, Highlands, CovCath or Beechwood? Those are the two kids that I am most familiar with which is why I commented on them specifically. If Stringer had attended SK, would Powell be the main running back?

All the above are great points. This is why HS numbers mean very little in the recruiting world. Then my question is. Who's the best? The kid with better numbers or the kid who gets offers at the D-1 level?
