  1. Definitely a BIG TIME STOP! Hell, he could have probably accepted the hand off had he wanted too. ChirpChirp
  2. After playing in the same district the last few years, I think this is really becoming a great rivalry/match-up for both the kids and the fans - with 3 straight THRILLERS! In Barker/Castleman's senior year it was tied at 20 with 6 minutes to go in the 4th before things fell apart for Scott. Last year it was a 62 yard burst by Pleasant late in 4th and a 2 pt conversion by London that got Scott by 16-15. Friday night was no different - another great thriller in the books!
  3. London (check), Pleasant (check), Rice (check), Hicks (check), Berling (check), Tucker (check), Perrin (check), Fitzgerald (check), Hale (check). Scott Eagles 2015!!
  4. Over 2700 yards rushing...Not bad for a 1950s offense. Also, speaks volumes about opposing defenses. Way to go Eagles!
  5. I don't think you could - or even should for that matter - compare the two backs. They each bring very different styles of running that makes them both very unique, and together gives Scott a very dynamic back field.

  8. ...which he politely declines (invite) We need the rushing lanes that kid is going to create!
  9. Hold it, not just yet...For purposes of this forum only, we haven't got our secondary squared away. Who's Skylar Hale? For some reason I keep hearing this kids name...
  10. So then you answered my question (the secondary). Are you suggesting Fitzgerald @ FS alongside Pleasant @ SS and Perrin and London at the corners? What about these "other talented athletes" that didn't come out last year that I keep hearing could very well be a good fit in the secondary should they decide to play this year?
  11. Not just necessarily speaking on "going deep into the state" (although it won't hurt to show how you got there). But just being able to perform against those more formidable opponents period. Nothing against those programs but kids rush for 150-200 yards and 3-4 TDs on Holy Cross, Grant Co., etc. But then when they get into those bigger games...You know what I'm saying.
  12. I think everyone who participated in this thread will agree on two things: 1. Northern KY's C/O 2016 will field some of the top RBs in the state this year; and 2. Jacob Smith will be at the forefront of that group. So, no one is ragging on him. He's very talented and the looks he's generating validates his abilities (as I stated, he can break a team's back if not contained). However, those looks only gets him on the recruiting board - alongside other talented backs from across the region/country. In order to actually land the offer (and this goes for every kid in that group) you have to perform on the big stage...
  13. What about Gage Tucker? Isn't he going to play on the D-Line? He's continuing to develop nicely and with his size and strength he could add pressure as well.
  14. And that's so unfortunate. But I guess that's the difference between good athletes and those destined to be great...You're amongst the leaders of your class, put up good numbers...You have to be able to perform on the big stage when it all counts!
  15. For some strange reason I envision a NKY sacks leader on the Scott line this year, maybe two...
  16. I definitely share your concern. But where does the problem lie? (Up front or in the secondary?). And how do Scott fix it? The general consensus is that a QB's clock is just over 3 seconds and after that the ball should either be out or the QB should expect the rush. In too many instances, I saw where opposing QBs had extended periods of time to make decisions/plays in a comfortable pocket, which puts enormous stress on and exposes any secondary.
  17. Also, let's not forget about Dixie. They only APPEAR to be in a down year. Coach Brossart has found ways to win in the past, and with a very intense weightlifting program, they will play very physical, hard-nosed football and will field some pretty good athletes of their own re: Caple, Faeth, Schulte, Barrett and Barrmore just to name a few.
  18. With a scheduled scrimmage against Lloyd - whose backfield will include Scott transfer DaShon Lunsford and the elusive, very talented, very athletic LaShunn Townsend and a season opener against NCC (Jacob Smith), the Scott Eagles' run defense will be put to the test right from the very start. The good thing is depending on how the defense fares against Lloyd, Head Coach Dan Woolley and DC David Simpson will have time to make adjustments before heading into the game against NCC, where Jacob Smith - who is fast and very athletic - could break a team's back if not contained.

  21. London - who is actually the featured back - rushed for 940 YDS, 9 TDS on 164 carries. Pleasant - who is on the field offense, defense & special teams - rushed for 843 YDS, 7 TDS on just 82 carries. If the game @ East Jessamine don't get called due to weather, then Scott could have had two backs go over 1,000 YDS on the season. But they definitely gel very well together sharing the back field(accounting for over 60% of Scott's scoring). They could arguably be the top 1-2 punch in NKY). To be considered a top dual threat on a statewide level, they'd have to lead Scott deep into the playoffs. Not sure they can do that without a passing game.
