  1. Was I just seeing/hearing things or are those MAC coaches already starting to pour into Northern KY?
  2. Thank you Norse 1...While these guys do have a valid point in terms of this forum (which is why I also apologized for my passion at the same time), you said a little more eloquently all I was trying to say.
  3. Sometimes we as parents put unnecessary pressure on our kids, because of our own desire to win. We then go comparing the talent level of kids who have to play together. "Who's the best player for Scott at this position?". "Who's the best player at Scott at that position?". Who the hell even cares?!! If you're truly a Scott fan, and you want to see them win, then you know we need our kids to PLAY AS A UNIT!! So, we can do without the comparisons and unnecessary distractions! I apologize for being so passionate about a team I want to see win and a group of kids I care for...JMO

  5. I'm actually finding this thread very informative. But I have a question: Say your kid plays both sides of the ball and submits film highlighting that. A school responds stating they love the film and would like to personally invite your kid to their camp for further evaluation, but do not state as to whether they like him on the defensive side of the ball or offense, and the email is from Operations personnel verses an offensive or defensive coach or coordinator. So, my question is once you arrive at the camp how do you know which group to send him with? Do you showcase him as a RB or DB? Or do you ask the person who sent the email to specify?
  6. Really?!!! Didn't realize there were that many D1 schools. I need to get on the ball because I'm missing about 70 something...
  7. But you did bring up an interesting topic, however: Social Media. One of the things that Head Coach Frank Solich did specifically mention was that "everybody is digging". Kids and their parents are digging into schools trying to find the right fit and schools are digging into kids...So, with that being said, I hope these kids are aware that their digital footprints and Social Media presence will factor into a school's decision to bring a kid into their locker room.
  8. It appears that Northern KY may be a hot spot for top MAC level talent in 2016. Spotted on campus at Ohio University's Junior Day on Saturday were Simon Kenton's Dillon Powell, Newport Central Catholic's Jacob Smith, Ryle's Colin England, and Scott High School's Deondre Pleasant, Roberto London, and Ron Rice. I anticipate schools such as Akron, Bowling Green, Toledo, Central Michigan, and Ball State could spend a lot of time in our bleachers looking to fill future spots for their programs. But of course, I'm no John Madden either. So, feel free to rip into me...
  9. I share that same concern...He still appears physically unprepared and has already had some concussion issues.
  10. I like watching and supporting all of these very talented young men via HUDL. But I tell you what, you guys are killing me with the 15 & 20 minute highlight films! I imagine that's a good problem to have though.
  11. Junior Year Highlights - Deondre Pleasant, Jr. highlights
  12. Scott arguably has the top 1-2 punch in Northern Kentucky in Deondre Pleasant and Roberto London. With their "Big Boys" up front, I think Coach Dan Woolley will finally get that 1st playoff win that has eluded him the last couple of seasons.
  13. This may be the most liberal thing you've ever heard, but (as a Scott HS Parent/Fan) Bluegrass Preps is like watching Fox News! IJS
  14. Thought Jordan Johnson would have earned himself a starting job in the Defensive Backfield by now...
  15. ...and played a 9th season together as Summit View Jaguars.
  16. I agree. I think there is a bit more talent at Scott then some may think. Scott will definitely have another successful season in spite of who they lost to graduation. Now, how much of that success will be contributed to a relatively soft schedule, or playing in a district that's in a downturn this year? But that's another conversation...
  17. At Scott, a more mature Deondre Pleasant will return to the Strong Safety position...NKFCA 2nd Team DB as a Sophomore; team 2nd in tackles behind Elijah Miller (55)...couple of forced fumbles, couple fumble recoveries, a pick 6, considered for All-TSF Defensive Back Primer. Will be interesting...
  18. Don't quote me on this, but I think Lunsford and London may be the return men at Scott. Pleasant will return punts again this year. I believe he returned two for TDs last year.
  19. I know he's young and still needs time to develop and catch up to the speed of the game. But I thought backup QB Nelson Perrin looked pretty darn good. In fact, I think he may have thrown a couple of TD passes (one to Pleasant and one to London).
  20. Elijah Miller, I believe, may have led the team with 60+ tackles last year. He'll be a HUGE part of Scott's success on the defensive side of the ball!
  21. Gage Tucker has plenty of time to continue developing. The kid is only what? A Freshmen? Sophomore?
