Camron Justice 5th Place On KY Career Scoring

Featured Replies

With 3421 points and counting Camron Justice is now in 5th place in KY career scoring;

Here is how it breaks down

Kelly Coleman 4337 -916

Charlie Osborne 3647 -226

Harry Todd 3567 -146

Chris Harrison 3542 -121

Camron Justice 3421

I'm thinking he should finish second all time. That's a helluva career and I have enjoyed watching him play the times I have been able to see him play. He'll go down as one of the all time great high school basketball players from KY.

He could possibly move in to second all time with 916 points being a long way off, but 3,421 points is great he will go down as one of the best scorers to ever play in the state of Kentucky.

He's average 24.3 a game according to KHSAA.

226/24.3 = 9.3 games.

So if he stayed at his current season average it would take 9-10 games. They have 3 regular season games left, 2 district (? ... I assume they have more than 3 teams), and 3 in region would get them to 8 games. So it looks like he could very well move into 2nd at Rupp, which would be cool.

It's hard for me to envision him getting 2nd without Knott getting to Rupp. If he scores enough to get 2nd before the Sweet 16 he'll have likely scored enough to help Knott make it there.

Thanks for the breakdown. For my money, I see Rupp and Ky.'s #2 all time scorer in the very near future.

Sure has been fun to watch, that's for certain.

Very impressive.

What are the best parts of his game----besides being an excellent shooter?

It goes along with him being a great shooter but he has incredible range on his jumpshot. I've seen him hit many from well, well beyond the arc.

It would be nice to see him get to 2nd while playing in front of 10k plus at Rupp. Hopefully, if it happens they don't play when UK is on TV. I don't see anyone touching the King's total so this is pretty historic. The top 3 have stood for sixty years.

That's great and all, but it doesn't really answer the question. What else can he do? I've never managed to see him play, for whatever reason, so I know nothing about him. Is he a one-dimensional scorer who will never be heard from again after HS?

Where does Phelps' Ervin Stepp rank? He averaged over 50 ppg his senior year in the early 1980's.

I'm guessing he should finish second or third on Kentucky's all time scoring list. The kid can flat out play. He's a tremendous player. Congrats to him.

I couldn't disagree more, range is certainly an ability. Many kids can shoot 15 feet and in. Or kids can shoot out to the 3 point line but you put them 3, 4, 5 feet behind it and their percentage drops dramatically.

He can handle the ball well enough, not well enough to play point in my opinion. He does a good job of driving to the basket and finishing. He can certainly get by a slower defender that is guarding him too close but his money maker is his shot. From what I've seen I think he's better at catch and shoot but he can certainly pull up off the dribble.

I continue to be amazed on this forum. Is it just me or is there a group of posters who can't wait to be critical of Knott County or their players? I know we are proud of our players and maybe we brag too much on them. Our love for our team causes us to boast but I wouldn't hold it against other teams' players if you expressed fondness for your players. I know they have a relatively easy schedule. The mountain teams always have a tough time being good enough to play with the bigger schools. I watch other regions and like what I see in many players. I try to express the positive about those teams and players. I can certainly find it easier to post something positive about those players rather than trying to attack their game. Last night I watched Catholic and LCA and saw a number of players I would be proud to watch. I'm just trying to understand the mentality but it just confuses me. Is it the argument these posters are looking for, or is it personal?
