February 11, 201511 yr Speaking of Towns... I think it was Jerry Meyer on Twitter after the game saying that there's a growing number of scouts that don't see much of a gap between Okafor and Towns. It is all in the potential, but Towns is pretty well rounded. Okafor is seen as an exceptional player around the rim, great rebounder, and that it is it. I am not saying he will not grow in to more than that. You can see Towns' versatility. A longer version of Al Horford is what I am seeing.
February 11, 201511 yr Yeah his left arm on top of the LSU player's right shoulder and his left hand in the guy's face say it wasn't a foul. Okay. If my old eyes aren't playing tricks on me...... This morning I watched the DVR of the game and I slow motioned that particular play. It looked to me that Towns did not have his hand on the LSU player's shoulder. He had his arm down to the side then slightly raised it halfway up. I also looked to see if he pushed off. There was contact as there always is when players are fighting for a rebound, but not enough to merit a foul. I rewatched the rebound in slo-mo several times. Didn't see a foul. Didn't see a hand on a shoulder. No way a refs could call that a foul. However, Towns was fouled on a rebound put back attempt at the 1:45 mark that went uncalled. That was the one where the refs went to the score table to check the monitor about the shot clock. Even Vitale's partner announcing the game thought a foul had been called. And at the end of the game on the breakout play that would have tied the game after Booker missed the second free throw, the Tiger player walked about 4 steps that was so obvious I don't know how it went uncalled. Should have been UK's ball.

February 11, 201511 yr OlDog I found this one for you...it'll be fun just watching you figure out how to ride it.

February 11, 201511 yr The refs missed a bunch of calls both ways at the end of the game. The entire game they went between letting them maul each other and then calling some ticky tack fouls.

We got some, they got some.
February 11, 201511 yr I'll take that gift every time. We got some, they got some. I agree, there were bad calls both ways which was my original point. Blinded UK fans clamored over the no-call on the walk but refused to accept (and still are) that calls got missed against UK as well.

The slo mo replay I watched on the DVR didn't have the close views under the basket that you have here. It was from a longer more distance angle, and I honestly didn't see a hand on the shoulder from that angle. Are the pictures you have here from the tv broadcast? If they are I didn't see them.

They are from the TV broadcast. I found the replay online and used a snipping tool to just focus on the rebound.
February 11, 201511 yr The 3rd and 4th images from the top are the angles I reviewed on the DVR. From that angle it doesn't look like a much of anything. A player's head has part of the view blocked in one of them. But the baseline angle that you've posted does tell the story. He had his hand on his shoulder.
February 11, 201511 yr I thought it was absolutely a foul when it was live and even more so on the replay. Count me as one that is thrilled it wasn't called.
February 11, 201511 yr Where are the screenshots of the "goaltend" that was clearly a great blocked shot?
February 11, 201511 yr Where are the screenshots of the "goaltend" that was clearly a great blocked shot? As I told you last night, I wasn't watching at that time. Not even sure where to look during the replay to screenshot it.
