February 10, 201511 yr I was thinking of this today as I was listening to Pandora and Kool and The Gang came on. I'm not sure how many times I saw them back in the day but it was a few. They used to come to the Kool Jazz Festival where I'd see them. It got to wondering if they were the group/singer I've seen the most. If it's not them it may be Luther. Who is yours?
February 10, 201511 yr I've seen a bunch of local acts a whole bunch of times. Way more than any major groups or performers. Of the non-Louisville acts, I think I saw Andrew WK six times over a four-year period between the ages of 17 and 21. If classical/opera groups count, then I've seen the Louisville Orchestra and Kentucky Opera company more than any other groups except for a couple local acts I've had friends in. February 10, 201511 yr I liked that you saw Morrissey 3 times, he has been on my short list to see. His health was bad, but he is able to tour again. To be honest with you he ticked me off 3 of the 3 times that I saw him leaving a bad taste in my mouth. First time: Riverbend Cincinnati He cut his show short and did not do an encore and said that Riverbend security would not let him conduct his show the way that he had planned. My concert buddy and I looked at each other wondering what we had missed and decided to drive up to Cleveland two nights later to find out. 2nd time: Cleveland Nautica Stage What we had missed the first time is that during the entire show he'd let fans one by one jump up on stage to hand him flowers while he crooned and pushed them off of him as if they were a bother. It was a good show and I cut him some slack for his uppity persona, but it still was anti-fan somehow with his superiority complex. It was done for show, but still made him look like a big snob. If it's what he was going for he succeeded. 3rd time: Taft Theater Cincinnati He had a big video screen behind him which initially appeared to be there to flash changing pictures behind him while he performed. It started with one photo, then eventually to a second, then back to the first one that never changed for the rest for the rest of the show. It really made no sense, and again because while in Cincinnati he still wasn't at liberty to run his show like he wanted to, he pulled the same no encore thing on us, and said to the audience that he didn't know how we lived in this god forsaken town and how we weren't driven to kill ourselves. We the paying audience should not have been shortchanged because he hated Cincinnati. We were there to see him, and had nothing to do with his problems with security, but we the fans got the short end of the stick because of his negative attitude.
February 10, 201511 yr Motley Crue 3 times Metallica 4 times Kid Rock 5 times Slipknot 2 times Aerosmith 2 times Nelly 2 times (not sure how this happened but once was with Cash Money Records show in Dayton) Several country acts a few times, but I can't remember all of those.
February 10, 201511 yr Aerosmith, Kansas, Billy Joel, Chicago, The Grateful Dead, and Charlie Daniels I've seen multiple times. Nobody else more than once, that I can remember, anyway.
