Eddie, will do a great job handling the PHM. He will just listen and move on. NCC has its own detractors and it did not phase him one bit.

Pressure from Cov Cath Job will not be an issue. He did win a few national championships at QB, after being recruited to be DB.

He has a lot of the Old River Boat Gambler (Lynn Ray) in him.

If you want to see what he can do. Go back and watch his last high school game he coached. New Cath beat Caldwell County in the state title game.

As injuries piled up during the game he never flinched. Neither team punted. Even inside their own 20. In the end. It was just great play calling.

 

Great points and the playing calling against Caldwell is something that has always stuck in my mind.

 

These are certainly exciting times in Park Hills.

Congrats to CovCath and Eddie, what a incredible hire for Bobby Rowe:thumb:. I certainly never saw this one coming and yes he will be awesome at CovCath.

 

I remember Eddie when he was at NewCath, my oldest daughter went to NewCath and my oldest son was on Eddie's radar to also attend NewCath. Darn kid almost went there but backed out at the last moment and continued the legacy at Highlands.

 

I guess the moral of the story is Eddie knows talent and Eddie knows football and the kids will line up to play for Eddie and he will play the very best position players and athletes regardless of the kids last name.

 

I also know Eddie carries a big stick and the buck stops with him and I highly doubt he will be influenced by any moms, nannie's or PHM folk...I am sure he will have to navigate around some bumps in the road to get where he will want this program to be again but hey that's how successful coaches have to do it if they want the program to succeed. :thumb:

 

To answer the Gurus question...No it doesn't concern me or worry me but it sure does give the Blueboys some hope to get this rivalry fired back up and make this a more competitive matchup every game moving forward.

I did a quick walk thru the other day and wow, quite impressive. Highlands has finally gotten that piece of the puzzle that has been alluding them all these years. This new facility will help all the sports teams with their training needs and will help contribute to all their success.

 

Great job to all involved in the planning and development of this and all of their new facilities in the FTIS District! Awesome, just awesome!

Apparently, some the biggest concerns at the moment at Highlands is the how in the world did they mess us the font for the big Blue H on the new facility. Went with the scholar H and not the Athletic H, I guess they have to try and keep everyone happy.

 

Probably a pretty good chance that the building will cater to more than just athletics...

Things are happening sooooo fast at Highlands right now that it is very scary to think where the athletic program as a whole will be in a just a yr or so...

 

Dale took that darn football program and put it minimum 5-7 yrs ahead of the competition and now this, the baseball team will benefit from this facility probably more than anyone and the dance team and yoga club can get jiggy jiggy wit it...:thumb:

 

Plus not to mention it will be the best opposing football team locker room in the state...

 

Its the gift that just keeps on giving...

You know, just when Guru started a thread in what appeared to be an equalizer to Highlands success in the hiring of Coach Eviston, and bam, just like that, Highlands is opening a state of the art training facility. Man, you can't write this stuff any better. Well maybe Sweep can.

 

You know what Sweep, I think there needs to be another Highlands thread. All this CCH coach talk is old news. Maybe you or someone close to you with pics of the new facility can share those on BGP with a new thread. How bout it? Wait, did I let the cat out of the bag?
