January 25, 201511 yr Try the Grey Goose or the Blue Herron on Jefferson Street. Same owner, both are great. What type of food do they have. I believe one if known for their pizza.
January 25, 201511 yr Best barbecue spot is Red State. Definately not fancy by any means but awesome brisket. ate there almost weekly when I lived in Georgetown.
January 25, 201511 yr Windy Corner is a Lexington gem. It is a little out in the country but I recommend it highly.
January 25, 201511 yr Ramsey's...that is all. Love Ramsey's, haven't been there for awhile. The one I was at had an open outdoor area and kinda new at the time, does anyone know the one I mean?
January 29, 201511 yr Author I have never tried any of them but hope to in the near future. Merrick Inn is my favorite. Love going there in the summer and eating on the patio. Personally I think Stella's is my favortie. Nick Ryans is great too. Excellent atmosphere but it's a little more fancy. I haven't tried Blue Heron yet but I hope to soon.

February 16, 201511 yr Went to Lexington to take my daughter out for surprise lunch today. We were going to Ramseys on East High/Woodland. We had never been. Her phone/gps said we were in the right spot. Went into a place called Chathams since we couldn't find Ramseys. Service was excellent. Food was tasty. She had an omelette and fruit and I had a Sandwich. Place was nice inside. Later, we found out that we were at the place where Ramseys used to be before they closed that location. Walked across the street to Missy's pies for a desert.

February 16, 201511 yr Wings - Indi's on North Broadway... those might be my favorite of anywhere & is a must if you are at the State Tournament this year and want to buy in bulk... Dad & I both usually stop there and just get 40 or 50 of the fried wings for a tailgate or one day at the Tourney... can't beat them. Hidden Gem Downtown - Sidebar Grill (only have a few things but all they have is great) Burgers - Sawyer's in the Victorian Square Italian - Giuseppe's on Nicholasville Road... IIRC, Pitino had some stake in it or still does and it was kinda "his" Italian place while at UK... Comfort Food - Suggins on Romany Road or Ramsey's (various locations) Cajun - Gumbo Ya' Ya' on South Broadway BBQ - Cannot think of the name of the place for the life of me... in the Lexington/Nicholasville area... owned by a dude who has some local boxing memorabilia there... place is a treasure and I wish I could think of the name. Could someone help me with this one if it's still around? Japanese - Yamamoto Steak - Columbia Steakhouse Thai - Planet Thai, and it's not even close... UK Hospital/Campus area Mexican - Jalapeno's on South Broadway (actually the most similar in Kentucky to what you'll find in San Antonio in many ways) Too Drunk To Stand - Tolly Ho (I hear it does the trick)... Waffle House (which I don't have here, is also said to work well)... Bar Food - Shamrocks (I'm thinking that's it... good appetizers like nachos, etc... Patchen area) or Charlie Brown's (Chevy Chase) ...and I'm starting to miss Lexington and want to come back soon.
February 16, 201511 yr Malone's in Palomar is good choice for flexible options. Sit down dinning in main dining room or good bar food options in Harry's bar. Also a sushi bar. All menus available in either setting.
