Local Restaurants in Lexington

Featured Replies

I’ve been eating at a lot of the locally owned restaurants in Lexington, especially those on Jefferson Avenue and they are awesome. What are some of your favorite local spots in Lex?

Is Joe Bologna's still open in Lexington?

Ramsey's...that is all.

My favorite too.

Had dinner there tonight. Fried pork chops, mashed potatoes and gravy, garlic Lima beans. Ramsey's is my favorite restaurant!!

Great place, I prefer their downtown location, due to the atmosphere and proximity to Rupp.. They are all great though.

Edit: Now that I think about it, that location closed, I believe. It was at Maxwell and East High street. It was my favorite of the few locations they have though.

How is Sauls Good abd how does it compare to Ramsey's?

It's good, again, I prefer the downtown location. But if you've never been I'd give it a try.

Best barbecue spot is Red State. Definately not fancy by any means but awesome brisket.

I have never tried any of them but hope to in the near future.

Merrick Inn is my favorite. Love going there in the summer and eating on the patio.

Perfect time for this thread. I'm actually down in Lexington Monday for a book signing and was looking for something other than Joe Bolognas like I usually eat when I make the trip down there.

Winchell's on Southland Dr is one of my favorites.

Downtown, Cheapside has good pub food.

Try the Grey Goose or the Blue Herron on Jefferson Street.

Same owner, both are great.

Saul Goodman? Didn't know he had stepped away from the law biz. Wasn't sure if you had a typo or what.

So they are still open? I thought they were closed or were replaced by another
