Poynter is a heck of a ball coach and has proved that at all his stops, He has done it being 4 wide, A11, Double Tight, The dude can coach it.

Johnny Poynter is certainly a legitimate coach. Surely you didn't mean to imply that he isn't.

 

I don't think he meant he is not a legitimate coach. However he seems to be one of the old school Bellevue guys from his comments. They like having someone who sticks with their double tight power running game that they always had, and he kind of went away from that. So he was not trying to say he is not a legitimate coach. Just maybe didn't think his style fit in for what they are use to.

 

I don't know what their records are but I thought I heard this coach broke a lot of Bellevue's offensive records? So IMO I thought he was doing a good job with them.

Thats like saying "gosh I sure wish we would go back to being worse on offense". Lets get a guy in here who can be worse cause that's what I like.

Missed this thread as I rarely come into Highschool Football anymore. Has this officially been confirmed? I honestly thought he did a great job down in Bellevue. Curious as to the reasons for him being let go. I'll snoop around and see if I can confirm anything or get a reason.

I'am not sure if he was let go, or if he is even gone, I was thinking if he's out its on his own accord.

From a very reliable source I can confirm that he is still the coach at Bellevue. That's all I can say for now.

They should just combine Dayton, Bellevue and Newport and create a RiverCity High School.

 

This is something that has been considered numerous times over the years. At one point they even had a name for the combined school, which was Campbell North. However, from my understanding which of course could be very little, the issue that was ran into was a location. Finding a central location that would allow these kids to make it there. Newport, I believe was the biggest issue with them asking about a lot of the kids from the west side. Although a bus system would surely be in effect. But I've heard nothing about this in a few years, so my guess is IF they combined, it wouldn't be anytime soon.

True, he is still technically the coach. Going forward, he will not be.

Any further updates on this position? Thre are some saying he is leaving and some saying he is staying.
