Andy Dalton to the Pro Bowl

Featured Replies

The problem is clearly Marvin Lewis. He had a Pro Bowl QB and still couldn't get a playoff win.

19 TD 17 INT...

That's pro bowl numbers now..

Seriously how did he make it? Last year he at least would have had the numbers to try to support it. However this year he doesn't have any numbers at all to support him making the pro bowl. This makes no sense at all.

Does anybody watch the pro bowl?

Pro Bowl, believe it or not, actually draws decent TV ratings.

I believe I heard it draws the best ratings out of all the all stars game. Just shows how popular football is, even a game that is pretty boring people still watch.

It is not fully shocking when you think about it and you see this happen on almost annually. Heck, I think Vince Young made a couple of Pro Bowls, one time only starting a handful of games for a season. 16 teams per conference. 1 is off the board immediately because of the Superbowl. Of the 15 remaining, I would say 5-6 are shuffling QBs all season. You probably have a couple with season ending injuries. Then probably a couple that ended the season with an injury but played through it (Manning, Rivers, etc.).

It's truly a sad day without the proper commentary.

In the interest of fairness, which QBs were either on the team or couldn't make it (Brady) that led to Dalton coming aboard?

Which QBs does that leave that Dalton made it over?

Manning and Rivers are the first two on my mind. Wilson would have been selected before him. Rodgers, Romo as well. Do they still do AFC/NFC? I didn't think they did.
A lot of people do. And yes, it is terrible.

That really surprises me.

Flacco

Roethlisberger

Eli

Stafford

Brees

Ryan

Newton

Kaepernick

That's 8 that you would think would be there ahead of Dalton this year....Which of them aren't going?

Offense

Quarterbacks: Tom Brady, Patriots; Andrew Luck, Colts; Peyton Manning, Broncos; Aaron Rodgers, Packers; Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers; Tony Romo, Cowboys; Drew Brees, Saints; Matthew Stafford, Lions; Matt Ryan, Falcons; Andy Dalton, Bengals.

Changes: Stafford replaced Manning (injury); Brees replaced Roethlisberger; Ryan replaced Brady (Super Bowl); Dalton replaced Rodgers (injury).

Invitations declined by player: Philip Rivers, Chargers (injury); Joe Flacco, Ravens (personal).

Other: Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson (third alternate) will play in Super Bowl.

Just saw that the 6 QBs are Luck, Dalton, Romo, Stafford, Brees, and Ryan.

Flacco and Rivers declined their invites. Manning, Roethlisberger, and Rodgers are missing due to injuries. Brady and Wilson are missing due to Super Bowl.

Why were Newton or Eli not asked?
