Maybe so, but the word is that ASAP will now have a New Jersey feel to the Atmosphere and was blessed by St Anthony. That's non-believable right there. I really feel bad for Dave Wirth right now. Deserves better!

 

Catching up here but it almost sounds like from your little hints is that Scott Ruthzans(SP) is one of the new owners of ASAP? If so then that's a heck of a Recruiting tool for the entire CovCath program. Nice resources to have for sure. I do know now that this might be a double edge sword here. It will have it's pros and cons for sure. Does it drive business away. Maybe, but I don't think ASAP has to worry about numbers right now. A quality org for sure! Not sure how many Cake Eaters will use ASAP's services once they paint the Big Blue Colonel on the Wall down in Covington and hang the Clock!:thumb:

Does really matter who they hire? Sorry, they could bring in Kerry Coombs from OSU and they still wouldn't be able to beat Highlands in the regional finals. The parents will love whatever coach that is hired for a year or two, and then they'll turn on him. Honestly, who would want that job? I just hope that the guys who coached the CCH freshman team don't get moved up.

If CovCath could stomach him and if he could stomach the PHM, Mike Yeagle would be my guy and the money would bring him out of retirement...He or Dale Mueller is the only two guys that could win State Championships at CovCath and Dale wouldn't coach there even for the money...

 

There are people at CovCath that think they are bigger than the program and until somebody with the success of these two guys come in and win and win big then CovCath will struggle with football for yrs to come. Sure they will win 8 to 9 games a yr and that is awesome I guess, JMO...

 

Don't take it wrong Blueboys, I am just looking in from the outside and it reeks of PHM...I actually feel bad for the kids to have to continue to go through this crap. It is easy for me to sit here and say this because life is good in Ft Thomas but it really isn't rocket science and this hire more than any possibly ever will be the hire of the century or it will be just another hire.

 

There is parental involvement and then there is parental participation and there is a huge difference and my perception is there is a lot more involvement than participation...:thumb:

I think whoever is the new coach, he will have to have full control, bring in all of the people he wants, his people, and some or all of the current staff may have to watch from the stands.

And what in the world prompted the Frosh coaches comment? Not that it factors into consideration but since you don't seem to have a clue, the Cov Cath Frosh have done very well over the years- the last two teams have beaten Highlands both years which hasn't happened in a very long time.

People outside the program can think and perceive what they want. The parental involvement in the sports programs at Cov Cath is no different than it is in almost any other school. There are always going to be a select few who feel like their opinions matter more for one reason or another- every school has them.

 

This decision had nothing to do with any perceived PHM involvement or whatever cute tag line some people want it labeled. This decision came down to two men- Dave Wirth and Bob Rowe. I think each felt like their positions were good ones, but in the end, Bob Rowe is in charge. Hard to argue with the man who has brought so much success to Cov Cath both academically, athletically and fiscally, over the past 6+ years. Dave Wirth will be fine- he is a terrific coach and person who will go on to do great things.

 

The kids haven't "continued" to go thru this crap- they are going thru crap now- but that's life. Things change- you adjust and move on. Rowe will find the best man for this job, of that I have no doubt. From all indications there was immediate and overwhelming interest in this position, so again, I am confident this will turn out well.

This is where the Ft. Thomas parents separate themselves from other areas. Based on my very, very limited experience, it's "Coach what can we do to help" not "Coach, here's what we think you should do"

the whole rocket science comment is dead on. I guess CCH missed the memo of Dale's open practice policy. He has had multiple high school and college programs come and watch workouts and practices, while all along saying to themselves, how do they do it. They are not doing anything special. No running till you puke, no 3 hour practices, no double sessions, and the weight room facility, you have got to be kidding me. Now the facilities have changed and will be top class, but until this year, they were some of the worst if not the worst in the State. Hell, I may argue country. Anyway, for the Blueboys, it's not that hard. Actually it is. Dale and Mike are retired so good luck! and Rodenburg is with the Big Boys now!

I know Mike and can tell you he will never coach again. Sad, but true. I agree he could turn the CovCath program into a Highlands beater, but Mike has other battles to fight other than football parents and fans.
