If you are a fan of really good receivers your heart has to go out to this kid because had he continued on the pace that he was on in Ft Thomas he would have several D1 offers imo. I just feel like the move really really hurt his stock.

Agreed, the bid for an undefeated season most probably would have been a little better. JF actually could have filled in at TE after Telek went down and with the Offense that was put into place during the offseason there is a chance that both Venneman and JF would have had equal numbers.

 

Unfortunately, the move for JF had a bigger impact on the individual than the Program...Just a bad mis-calculated move that I hope didn't hurt his stock. Man, talk about hindsight...

Playing at Highlands wasn't going to make him any faster. That is why he has no D1 offers. Not because he chose to change schools.

It had everything to do with changing schools imo, the speed changed too. I actually commented on your speed reference when Highlands played WC this yr. Highlands speed was the difference in that game and of course the coaching...:thumb:

DI-A offers come largely at the completion of one's JR year and headed into their SR year...he had zero at Highlands. Highlands had zero major DI-A recruits on this team which means that big schools have little to no reason to go scout them as a high priority. The state's three top players this year played at Madison Southern, Warren East, and Woodford Co. Where you play has little to do with garnering actual offers.

I wish JF the best and hope he gets an offer; as I know he wants to play at the next level. However, IMO he is not a D-1 caliber WR. A 6'-6'1 WR with average at best speed is a dime a dozen in this country... Aka not worth a college coach's time. Also, I know for a fact that JF met with multiple college coaches while he was at HHS when coaches were there meeting with Hodge; none ever came close to offering. Whether JF played at HHS, WC, or on the moon it wouldn't have mattered.
