"Warren Central will be moving in a different direction as Howard Feggins will not return as head football coach of the Dragons next season. Warren Central is grateful to Coach Feggins for his efforts with the football program."

 

Sounds like it was theirs to me.

My quote from the Warren Central 2014 thread last year:

 

I think history may judge the hire based on the length of his tenure. The Dragons can not afford for him to leave after just a few years. His plan sounds excellent, now comes the follow through. I'm quite fond of the Tyson quote that everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth. Execute the plan and stay around for a while and it'll be great.

 

To sum up, I think it might turn out to be high risk, high reward. WC and their supporters better hope real hard for the reward part.

 

Well, they got one year. Regardless of who did the choosing, that's all they got. And it did not pay off by any means with what they wanted. A 6-5 season where they played well in the first half, but took a tumble at the end, and an ugly first round exit. And now Central is left looking for a new coach with probably one contending season left before they will really have their work cut out for them. After Coach Rogers left this was my fear to a T, though I did imagine we'd at least have a few seasons.

 

This ends a streak where Central had every coach leave after five seasons. Three straight had, but now they have their second single year coach in the program's history. If you're looking for hope as a Dragon fan, the one that followed the other one? Joe Hood.

 

I fear they're going to have their work cut out for them finding someone. There has been massive upheaval in the coaching ranks at Central in several sports of late. The softball coach was dismissed having never coached a single game.

Shocker. I think most folks knew this would happen within 72 hours of when he was hired.

I understand your frustration. I truly do. But, on the bright side, people from other schools are interested in what is happening at Warren Central. WC is relevant.

They need a long-term hire. I know it's a tough job regarding facilities and a low level of parent involvement, but they will always have the talent to compete in 4A. The BOE has given WC the short-end of the stick on the promised remodeling.

 

I can take some down years if there's light at the end of the tunnel.

 

Ironic that Feggins came in, cleared house, then struggled to find replacements. I hope some of the old coaches venture back.
