Chances at that. I said he should be held accountable for his actions and if he wants to play he should have to walk on. That's all. Never said he shouldn't be allowed to play football at all.

 

I don't disagree with you. If I were a coach, I doubt I'd want him on my team. But he does have a unique talent, and coaches are held accountable for winning games. So I can see why someone would take a chance on him. I'm also guessing if he did get a free ride (and do we know for sure that he did?) it's probably a good bet that he will be on a short leash and under much scrutiny.

If he's paid his debts to society for his past offenses through the legal system, isn't that all that's truly by law required of him?

 

If entities outside of the legal world choose not to accept him (schools, employment etc..), that's entirely their prerogative and however difficult, he'll have to accept that and learn to deal with it.

 

Murray, on the other hand has obviously agreed to take him in, and that again is their prerogative.

 

We don't know all the factors that went into their decision, and maybe so, and maybe not, they've seen in him a changed sense of maturity that might suggest that he's learned from his past mistakes, and is ready to move on in a more responsible fashion.

 

No matter what exactly have been the determining factors, at the end of the day, Murray wants the guys and that's their prerogative, and no matter what the peanut gallery has to say one way or another is pretty much mute and insignificant.

 

Sure, we can toss our wagers in as to how it's all going play out, and toss in our two cents, supportively or not regarding their decision and his future, but I have a hunch that they probably don't give two squats about our analysis, and have their own set of reasons why they've concluded that he's worth it to them to move forward with him sporting a Racers jersey.

 

They've welcomed him and it's all perfectly legal no matter how any of us view it ethically.

 

At this point it's all on Mr. Pike.

 

I've no clue how it's all going to go, but for his sake I'm hoping that his future is a bright one, and I wish for him only success.

Hopefully, third time is a charm. I am curious to see what position Murray will put him at, Zeke was one of the best punters that I have ever seen on the high school level. The kid has football talents at multiple positions.

Hoping this young man has grown up and will hold himself accountable and honor his teammates, coaches, teachers, and family with his actions. He earned the critics based on past performance. He CAN right his ship and prove the critics wrong...time will tell.

those that were being categorized as wishing Zeke failure yet never said such a thing. Also seems that I wasn't the one persecuting everyone who you thought hated him and wished him to fail.
