I'm more concerned about what happens in Colorado than France.

True. But an attack on a media outlet where 12 people were killed for publishing their magazine is probably going to garner much more attention from other media members that a bomb that did little to no damage and caused no injuries.

Sure it's possible.

I guess it's also possible that Mila Kunis would want to sleep with me, but I wouldn't count on it. :idunno:

You do know stuff like that happens, not the Mila stuff.

I don't know. That's why my post contains the question "would that not fall the under the domestic terrorism umbrella even though there was minimal damage and no reported injuries?"

If it isn't domestic terrorism then it isn't domestic terrorism. Do you know the answer to my question? I don't know the answer to your question.

It is domestic terrorism same as the Ft. Hood shooting was terrorism. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...............

For it not to be called terrorism is taking PC to the extreme.

Bombs are meant to maim and destroy. Period.

That's fine. Next time a bomb goes off anywhere in America and it just so happens that it is at a county fair in Georgia and there aren't any injuries I hope it takes 24 hours for it to become national news as well. Otherwise I hope people will understand why some black leaders will be upset if it is reported immediately.

It was national news within a couple of hours...There are links to National stories filed within a few hours of the explosion NBC, CNN, USATODAY and Daily Mail were a few among dozens and dozens of links from the day of the explosion.

To say it wasn't reported nationally right away is disingenuous. If there had been ONE injury it would have been all over everything. However if it wasn't next door to an NAACP office we'd have never heard of it either.

According to the search, Fox News did not mention it in any of their broadcasts.

Bomb explodes outside NAACP building in Colorado Springs

Reuters-Jan 6, 2015

All were on the 6th within hours of the explosion

There are 3 reasons why this wasn't a major news story: 1) No body was hurt, 2) The property damage was minimal, probably wouldn't even exceed the insurance policy deductible, and most importantly 3) It occurred on the same day as the French bombing that killed a dozen people.

The media is always going to focus on the most sensational story, and sometimes other events get overshadowed by them. It's just how it works.

Here's an example. Remember when Farrah Fawcett died? It should have been a big news story. She was an iconic actress whose poster was plastered on the wall of an entire generation of American boys. Unfortunately for her, her death got very little media coverage throughout the day as the "King of Pop" himself dies just a few hours later. We had hours of live shots outside an LA hospital with people chasing any and ever lead about what might have happened while Farrah was largely ignored.

I almost guarantee that if not for the French bombing at the same time that this would have been a major news story.

Guess so. People were upset with the lack of attention and lack of follow up details. I found out today on Twitter and came here and searched for a thread on it. Didn't see one so I started it.

I get it but it still bugs me. I'm always more concerned with what happens here in the US and even though there were no injuries and minimal damage a bomb that was detonated in our country is huge news to me and it really sucks to hear about it for the first time two days after the fact.

I read about it the same day. But I didn't want to start a thread because there were literally no details.

The one article I first read didn't even know if it was sure a bomb. Then the France thing happened and I honestly forgot.
