Maybe they should just require seatbelts and helmets for sledders. That still sounds less dangerous than riding a motorcycle.

When I read the headline, I thought "here we go again" with craziness from city leaders. But when I read it, I understand. They are not banning sled riding, they are banning it only on city owned property to stop lawsuits. If they banned sled riding in your back yard, then I would be upset. This is just a liability issue.

I can't blame the cities...they keep getting sued because people get hurt....by sledding into street signs, for instance. One guy sledded into a tree. In today's litigious society, how can a city continue to pay out when people get hurt doing something that probably wouldn't be dangerous if one didn't sled in an area containing immovable objects?
