JV coach

Hard to believe they are going to hand the reigns over to Brannen, tough job for someone so young.

WOW!!! I heard Detzel was on his way out, but I can't believe they named Grant Brannen the coach already. He is very young. Was he the Freshman or JV coach. Plenty of coaches out there would have loved to have this job, and I can think of one in particular that might be heavily interested.

This guy you speak of wouldnt happen to be alumni and one of the best coaches in NKY, would he? Why won't they open the job up? :sleep:

^Why should they if they feel that they have the right man there at the school. I guess that this means that Dave Lloyd the current Dean of Discipline is retiring .

Overall it is sad that a few people ran Detzel out.... his record speaks for himself. 3 straight All A titles... regional runnerup this year... District champs once and runner up 4 times.

Correct. No one "ran out" Rob. It was something he's been thinking about for a while. And when the chance to move to the AD role (which I assume comes with a slight pay increase) came along, he took it.

Oh, I do. trust me.... I know many people up on the hill. The A.D job was probably a goal of his but I have also heard he is a very good English Teacher so I wonder if the A.D job is fulltime or part time where he can still teach.

There's a difference between some people wanting you out and people forcing you out. There are always people that aren't happy with a coach. I can assure you that this is not why he stepped down.

Very few schools have full-time ADs. I'm willing to bet 95 to 99% of ADs also have another job in the school.

Almost all people in smaller schools wear several hats.

Why is Grant guarnteed the job when Tony Bajagualpo (sp?), has head coaching experience and played on the NCC regional title winner.

Surprized they didn't at least look at a former NCC grad who I think consistantly "does more with less" than any head coach in NKY? Maybe they did and he's happy where he's at, but he could do wonders up on the hill!! Good luck to both Rob Detzel and Coach Brannen.

I'm also kind of shocked because of heard rumors Ron Dawn wants back in coaching.
