March 25, 201511 yr Author Anybody read James Patterson's book Zoo? Co-author is the same guy with whom he writes the Michael Bennett series. I saw that CBS is doing a TV series based on the book this summer, so I picked it up yesterday.

March 26, 201511 yr Just finished reading Shifty's War, a biography of Sgt. Darrell "Shifty" Powers, Sharpshooter from Easy Company in WWII. As you can tell, I have several books about the Men of Easy Company. I just can't get enough.
March 29, 201511 yr Those of you who've read a lot of James Patterson...do all of his books have really short chapters? Yes. Glad to see that you are enjoying JP books. I read every single JP book until just a couple years ago. Then I started to get disinterested. I still keep up with the Women's Murder Club, NYPD Red series and the Private series. Got behind on the Michael Bennett series. Too many kids to keep track of. :lol2:
March 29, 201511 yr Finally finished Baldacci's "The Escape". Really really liked that. John Puller reminds me of a younger/not retired yet Jack Reacher. And I love Jack Reacher!

March 29, 201511 yr Not everyone is a fan of it. I loved it. No real big plots got solved but it set everything up for a great 6th book. About 2/3 of the way through. Not as entertaining (to me) as the others in the series, as there seems to be a lot of retelling ancient history. However, a fringe character gets one of the great lines in the entire series; and it kinda sums up why I read so much. " A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one."
March 31, 201511 yr @UKMustangFan Did you ever finish WoR? What did you think? I'm about 150 pages away from finishing....Have not been able to spend nearly as much time as I'd like on it. It's fantastic, although I do wish they'd focus more on Kaladin and Dalinar and skip over the Shallan stuff. She's an awfully boring character IMO.

It all comes together again just like in the first, except A LOT more excitement. I envy you :lol2:
