January 2, 201511 yr Oregon up 45-20 after three. The Ducks forced four turnovers in the quarter. They turned the first three into three TDs and 20 points (one directly via scoop and score), and the fourth drive is still in progress. Basically, after a back and forth first half, it was the adjustments and plays of Oregon that have made the difference and with it, they have broken Florida State's back. Florida State has done more to themselves in this half than Oregon has.
January 2, 201511 yr Loving this. Shows that TCU was really better than State. At least in my eyes. An Oregon vs. TCU game sure would have been something to see. It is a shame the Big 12 couldn't pick a conference champion.
January 2, 201511 yr Author Everything bad that could possibly happen to FSU has happened. Just not their day. There will be two schools of thought IMO. One, people will just say that is simply proof that the teams they beat weren't all that great and/or that FSU not looking impressive against them was a sign that they themselves were just not all that great. Thus when they ran up against a good to great team, smashed. Or two, that when you play with fire over, and over, and over again, eventually you run into a team that you can't do it against. The truth, probably is a mixture of both. FSU was in this one 100%, as short a time as the 8 minute mark of the third, midway through the quarter. It was 25-20, they were still right in it. The quick strike to Carrington I think hurt their psyche, but it was that Cook fumble to hand it back after that at 32-20 that broke them all the way. It's like their brains melted right then and there.

The team that would have been on the outside would have been Ohio State and I still think Florida State probably would have jumped them in that final poll. My guess is TCU would have played Bama, but who knows.

Oregon up 52-20 on Florida State with 13:56 remaining, and it's really just a question of how ugly this will be at this point. Again, just think about that just over 7 minutes of gametime ago it was 25-20 Oregon. It can all change that quickly.

January 2, 201511 yr Author I think Cooks first fumble was the point in which I secretly knew it was over. I was definitely worried. But I assumed they'd fight their way back. I just think the second one was what broke their spirit and they've been like a guy who took one to the jaw and dead on his feet in the ring, stumbling around, waiting to fall down for the ten count.
