Bad news: Damien Harris is not answering Coach Stoops personal phone calls. This has been going on for nearly a couple of weeks now.

 

Good news: I am told Matt Elam did the same thing last year and that one certainly worked out for UK.

 

My conclusion: Damien Harris will announce tomorrow he will sign at the University of Alabama.

Sorry, but I'm a bit spectical when information comes out like this. IMO, no one knows anything other than Damien, his family, and perhaps the coaching staff from each team. Everything else is he said she said, which amounts to nothing other than hype.

What time is his decision being made tomorrow? Will it be streamed for folks to watch?

1:15 and no. KSR was gonna be there but Matt Jones decided against it. Said he would rather not go and be surprised Damien picks UK than go and be letdown if he picks Bama.

If I was the Harris kid...I would have to consider the big picture...not the teams in the mix but what is the best fit for him. You got to think...would you go to a school that had a bunch of 3, 4 or even 5 star lineman blocking for you or a bunch of 1s and 2s with maybe one upper level lineman blocking for you. Also, you got to think iron sharpens iron...if he goes to Alabama he will have to step up his game or he won't play. At Kentucky it won't be the case he will probably play right away. But on the flip side of it...he could go down as one of the recruits that tip the scale in UK's favor to start being competitive in the SEC consistently, if that is what he wants to do. But as you know his roots and love for UK doesn't run as deeply as other recruits or he wouldn't have committed to Michigan so early (then de-committed as you know). Just my 2 cents.

It makes me think he will choose Alabama, which I wouldn't blame him for going...however I am a UK fan and I hope he chooses the Wildcats. We will see...good luck to the kid.

I came from one of the above that you mentioned. It is accurate, but what does it mean?

As a whole the B1G is considerably weaker top to bottom. Yes, this year their best team was better than the SEC's best team. Is the SEC the best conference in basketball because UK is the best team in the country?

 

It goes a little deeper than you admit. Michigan State is better than their 2nd best. Wisconsin is better than their 3rd.

2 things regarding this, assuming it's true...

 

1) Has he been answering calls from other coaches (Saban or Meyer)? Maybe he just shut everything down?

 

2) If #1 isn't the case, it kinda changes my opinion on the kid a bit. There's a right and wrong way to do things and blowing off a person who's been recruiting you as long and as hard as Stoops has isn't the right way. JMO.

I'm with you Sammy. Selfishly...UK. But if I'm him...T Town or Columbus and it's not even close.

 

As for those two...flip a coin.

I have concerns about his durability because of this very issue, especially at UK where the expectations will be so high.

 

Let me tell you, coming from a guy like Ryan Timmons.. being from KY and coming to KY the expectations are so high. You will be a hometown favorite. Ryan got so much back lash for things. Now say Harris comes in, fumbles a lot, loses yards, messed up...he will be the one that the once hometown favorite kid gone bad and they will just tell them to bench him and go somewhere else.

 

It's hard to plahy for KY being from KY

 

 

Harris will committ to Alabama.

4 years for the next 40 years. Most underrated aspect these kids need to think about.

 

Where do you want to live after? Because they all take care of their own after football is over.

Announcment is private now and not public. KSR is now not doing their show their today based on inside information. He is going to Alabama and I hate that as a UK fan. He is the X factor that could take UK from competing in the SEC in the coming years to winning the SEC.
