AAU Summer Basketball

Hyping kids over other talented kids is not "appreciation". There is a limit. And to say they play with passion and heart, is to say that others in their class do not. This is far from the truth. This board has pretty much become a 16th Region Community board. There are 15 other regions out there.

Its a free world - if you wish to discuss the other 15 regions then fire away. The Faulkners play the game the way its supposed to be played, regardless of age, talent, or size. They play with heart and guts.

And so does hundreds of other kids in the Class of 2009. By saying that, you are implying that other more talented freshman kids do not play the game with heart and guts and play the game the way it should be played. That is just not true. I see it every weekend during AAU. They are good players without question. They will have solid high school careers at Elliott County, but the FACT IS, they would not have had the same opportunity to play varsity at better regions or schools this early. Elliot County lacked talent with them coming in and the 16th is one of the 3 worst regions.

sorry, I dont get your logic, your saying if someone says the Faulkners are good, severyone else isnt?

That means if I say OJ is awesome, everyone else isnt?

I think there is room for plenty of other players to be good besides the Faulkners, their being good doesnt diminish anyone else, feel free to tell us about other good freshmen

I dont mind

Thats not what I am implying. Thats what others on the board are implying.

Stripes3, I am sorry I do not get what you are implying here at all. It seems you take your comments one way while everyone else see it another. So if I say one kid plays hard with heart & guts the way the game should be played I am implying that others do not??? How silly is that??? Or is it only this way when someone is complimenting the Faulkners??? That seems to be your only beef!! Give the kids their credit! No they may not start in other regions but they would most definitely be first guards off the bench in 90% of the state!!

Not the case. Just do not care for overly biased opinions. They are good players. The state has a bright future with the classes of 2008, 2009, and from the tourneys I have seen thus far, the 2010 too.

Kids are overhyped in every region...sometimes it's called a fan of the kid, fan of the team, fan of the region...EVEN professional evaluators over hype kids and MISS on their judgment of their abilities from time to time...E.G., read the Kentucky Cats Pause yearbook from this year and go back and look at what some comments were about some players....mind blowing.
