East Kentucky Lightning won the YBOA Sup Reg Quailifier for the 15 under division. This was not an AAU event, the comp level was decent. We are still hoping for some of the top teams in the KY area to get started with their seasons. This was a decent start.

East Kentucky Lightning had one practice before this tournament. The first two games were won by 22 points each.Which wasn't that much comp. On Sat. the competition was some better. Any way it was a start. See you around. Maybe at an AAU tournament.

Yes, indeed. It was a start. Quite a few 15's, 16s, and 17's have yet to get rolling. We have some tourneys in the coming months that will hopefully have a bigger draw. This was a YBOA event and not AAU which draws more teams at the higher level. From talking to people at this past event, a lot of the top sophs and juniors-to-be are playing up with other teams and forcing some programs to delay getting into tourneys.

All very good player. Ballou is about 6'7 wiht great leaps. Ty Perkins is about 6"4 and plays on the perimeter. He is a very good leaper and shooter. Gergory is about 5"7 that plays the 1. Good shooter and floor leader. This team consist of all Sophmores-to-be but will be playing up an age level into the Juniors-to-be.

They play thier first tournament this weekend. It is the Boo Williams Invational in Hampton, Virginia. Only Nike sponsored teams will be there so it should be a good test for them.

Does the Shining Stars Sports have a 16/U team and if so who is on it?

They do not have any 16 and under Kentucky teams this year. They have three Ohio 16 and under teams.

 

They will have teams at all age groups next year in Kentucky.

 

Shining Star Sports has been a very successful program in Cincinnati for years, the same will happen in Kentucky.
