I agree with what you are trying to say about over hyping players but that goes on everywhere & not just the 16th. To do it with using the Faulkners as an example is definitely not a true picture. These kids have proven themselves very well no matter what age group. Didn't they just help lead Elliott to a 16th region runner-up? Which is against a lot of 16-18 year olds. I think it would be safe to say some of the teams they played had kids who will be 19 before graduation or so thereafter just like the Faulkners!

Preston Knowles will be playing with one of the Eddie Ford teams. He will be a senior..not sure of the age group. Anyone know of the other players that will be playing with this age group?

They are four kids that are actually playing up an age level.

 

I thought I heard Euton and Jackson (I think) were playing with a D-1 sponsored team? Younger affiliate of D-1 Greyhounds of OJ and Bill Walker fame, who I believe are Reebok sponsored??

So, what does that have to do with the fact they are sophmores to be & therefore are playing with the correct group. If they are holdbacks or not I do not know, but I do know they will not be 16 until sometime in June. This would then mean they graduate at age 18. If they had not stayed back (if in fact they did) they would have been 17 at graduation. Why is this always the sore spot with everyone when it comes to the Faulkners! I assure you there are many in the state who will graduate a lot older that the Faulkners will be at graduation. I know 2 on the most recently announced all state team who will be 19 long before thieir graduation date!

Josh Elbert played with Shining Star Sports last year. He will be playing with that team again this season. They have a pretty nice roster.

Your correct, but they are also playing with Eddie Ford. Last weekend they practiced with the Eddie Ford team in between thier tounrament games.

I agree this is a very nice roster, but most of these kids start for their high school teams and playing time will be a issue. Some of these kids won't want to sit the bench. I will be surprised if all 12 of these players stay together on this team through the spring and summer.
