I would like to know, if this is the same Shining Stars that East Kentucky Lightning beat in the April 1-3 tournament. 15U. We beat both Ky. and Ohio Shining Stars

This thread is talking about the 17 and under team. Your team played the 15 and under teams from the same orginization. The Lightning are a very good team. I was very impressed!

The Hill kid for the shooting stars should have been named all-tournament

Zach Kiernan and Todd Jacobs were named to the all tourney team for the Kentucky Shining Star Sports team. Austin Hill had a very good tourney but the Zach and Todd were more deservant. Josh Elbert had a fantastic tournament as well.

Some good competion in in Florence this weekend, Ohio and Kentucky Shining Stars were good teams as was Indy Elite, Derek Smith All Stars east beat the Kentucky Shining Stars in the Championship game 84-76

Nathan Novosell, Jonathan Van Hoose, and Rodney Haddix made all tournament , Jordan Smart, Tyler Portwood, Alex Barker, and Zack Newton all had big games over the weekend, A lot of these players will be playing in the Executive Inn All Star game saturday and then on to Houston for the Kingwood Classic

I was very impressed with the Derek Smith All Stars. They played a fantastic game to win the championship. They have so many weapons and shoot the ball very well.

Shining stars were a very good team,I thought Indiana Elite took alot out of them in the semi-finals, they had no legs in the second quarter of the championship game.

The Faulkners wont be at Derek Smith All Star Game. They will be in Little Rock, Arkansas with their AAU team.

They are 15's with a couple of 14's, notably Euton, playing up. Euton is rated in the top 12 in his class of 2010 on the national level. They are a very solid team that is one of the top 5 Kentucky AAU teams in the 15 under division.

For the record - Stripes3 just said something halfway good about some 16th Region players.

Derek Smith also had a tough game coming from behind 14 to win the first game against the Ohio Shining stars, both teams were playing their third game of the day. Sometimes you have to reach down a little deeper and get a gut check, the Derek Smith Boys answered the call, Haddix and Van Hoose

were too hot to handle plus they got plenty of help. I saw Haddix make some unbelievable moves to the basket

 

But I do think the Kentucky Shining Stars is a quality team

I have watched Euton. For his size and age, he can play the perimeter. And he is agile as well which places him above the talent in his class. Euton can go down on the block as well and I like his agressiveness. Below is his Class Ranking. I also have the class of 2008 and 2009 should anyone wish to see them. And yes, I am still a fan of the 16th!

No players from the 16th on those list. I am a fan of the 16th, have been for 20 plus years and I always try to shoot straight with it. With Euton, you have a D1 player in the making. And from what I have been told, he has a solid working attitude to get better. That's all it takes.

I am not, but my nephew plays football in the 16th. I was born and raised in Cincy.
