other than for practice and fun, spending money to go to non-certified events doesnt make much sense for 16-17u teams, its time to get your scholarhip, and you are not going to make any progress playing in non-certified events , spend the money and go to the big tournments , big time competition and a lot of coaches from all over the country, its where you get on the recruiters radar

Unreal! We agree again. This just cannot coninue. But your right. Gotta play where coaches can see. Its time to showcase at the 16 under and 17 under level. No, it does not guarantee a scholly, but increases awareness about a players game. It can provide exposure, or you can get "exposed."

Shooter, are you going to the Adidas May Classic in Indy or the Adidas Hoops Challenge in Cleveland? I will be at one of them.

I'm going to adidas May classic, what is your favorite Memorial weekend tournament? outside of some good competition, its a dead period, Bob Gibbons is tough to get into, do you like the Spiece tournament in Fort Wayne or what?

and if your tired of agreeing, what do you think about sponsoring a 16th region all star team in this years state aau? Think they could win it?

(hint they did win 5th through 8th grades every year until the team broke up)

and that was always without a 5 man in the bunch

Any relation to Michael, I know he has a boy in high school now.

Yep, I believe so. Plays for the Illinois Rising Stars AAU. If I am not mistaken, that team is coached or sponsered by a guy named Paxson. And yes, that would be the teammate of MJ from the Bulls day. I have seen this team play a Louisville team in a tourney I worked. I think I still have the stats from that tourney.

The Spiece Tourney in Fort Wayne will be just fine. It will have teams reaching 6 or 7 states or better. By the way, Spiece's teams seem to always play the DS Allstars tough. That comp alone would be worth the trip. Spiece typically get the best Indiana has to offer. I will be at this event! It s the Run N Slam tourney right?

I may be headed to the Adidas tourney in Cleveland. It appears to be loaded this year. May schedule a trip to the May Classic if I can learn more about who is in it.

Cannot sponsor teams, sorry. Gotta remain neutral for now.

The Kentucky Hoopstar 15's are very solid. They finished in the top 8th this weekend at the Boo Williams. That team is one of the best if not the best in the state in the 15 year old division. The older Eddie Ford teams struggled at Boo Williams. The 15 year old team that I am talking about is the only team to make it to Sunday. They was very good competition though. Here is the final roster for the 15 year old team. They are playing in the 16 year old division next weekend at Little Rock, Arkansas.

Darren Ballou -- Adair Co.

Ty Perkins -- Palaski Co.

Ethan Faulkner -- Elliott Co.

Evan FAulkner -- Elliott Co.

Jon Ferguson -- Elliott Co.

Micheal Campbell -- Hazard

Jamerious Skytes -- North Hardin

Jordan Georgory -- Henderson Co.

This team plays very hard and are very unshelfish.

That is a solid team. Just not one of the top 3 teams in the 15 under level in Kentucky. I know two 15 under teams that are trying to play up to 17 under levels from Kentucky. It means very little. Just because any team plays up, does not even mean they would dominate in their rightful division.

I knew that if anyone on here would know of a few teams that could beat this team, it would be you. Who are the teams and players?

Stripes, now we can disagree on something, I think your discounting this team because it has all the 16th region kids, I would make them the number 1 15u team in kentucky, but there is no way I can prove it, because Eddie will make sure they never play another team from Kentucky, but I believe this team got to the semi's at Boo Williams and that is tough competition, I dont think any other ky team could have gotten there, this is the only team that Eddie has that would be "upper tier", the rest of them got pretty well thumped at Boo Williams

You made my point for me. They will not play Kentucky teams in any level and that is tragic. Then I would have to share your sentiment and say the 16s and 17s of the DS Allstars would be ranked behind the Eddie Ford Hoopstars. Just looking at the roster, I can tell you that team is good. Just missing quite few of the states top 15 under players. Until the play against other 15's in Kentucky, or even 16's, they have not proven they are the states best.

Some teams would be East Kentucky Lightning (last year's state champs AAU), Central KY Warriors (featuring Nick Hudson and Marquis Grissom), and Louisville Legends (featuring Jacob Jenkins and Ridge Wilson).

One of EKL players was ask to play with the Eddie Ford hoopstars. He has played against most of these boys either in AAU or high school. I have heard of Ty Perkins, gets T's almost every high school game. I am sure they are a good team. They won't know if they are the best untill they play some of the better teams around. We have a good addition in Cody Miller. He is 6'3" and can handle the ball.

Can anyone list the rosters for the Eddie Ford all star 16u and 17u teams? It is my understanding that each age group has two teams.

Can you post the national rankings for 2008?

Stripes, the Legends are good but I dont think they are as good as the Eddie Ford Team. Last year, Elliott Co.'s school team alone beat them in a tournament at the Mid America Center.
