3 Eddie Ford teams ended up getting runner up in the Arkansas Rockin the Rock Classic this weekend in Little Rock. The senior team with Matt Walls, Matt Daniels, Preston Knowles, etc. got beat on a game winning three by one point. The sophmore team with Ty Perkins, Darren Ballou, Jon Ferguson, the Faulkners, etc. got beat by 6 by the Arkansas Wings. The freshman team with Chad Jackson, Dakota Euton, Kyle Bair, Shaquille Wilson, etc. got beat by 4 points to the YOMCA from Memphis. Good job to all the teams, they representated Kentucky well this weekend.

Just to be realistic, I dont know anything about Little Rock tournament, but with it being Easter Weekend, and them having 3 runner ups, my guess is the tournament was "below average" in overall talent level. My further guess is they wont have 3 runnerup finishes in any other tournament this year. Although, I hope the kids representing the 16th do very well, Eddie just doesnt get enough of the best kids in Kentucky any more , especially at the 17u level.

I dont think he has a top ten rated 17u on the team does he? I think he may face some issues with Nike when his contract comes up for renewal, but I'm just "guessing", maybe stripes can tell us if I'm "close" or not

The Tourney was "Rockin the Rock" and it had a nice showing for quantity of teams, but not quality. The Eddie Ford programs broke up some of the talent and played in rightful divisions, not playing up.

The 16's had 16 Teams

The 17's had 31 Teams

The 15's had 19 Teams

However, quite a few programs entered multiple teams in each division including Ford, who had 2 teams in both the 16's and 17's. The way the brackets were set up, you only had to win twice to get to be runners-up and even each level were broken down into levels such as the elite or silver division. Ford DOES NOT have a team rated in the Top 10 in any division and they did not face any Top 10 programs over the Easter weekend.

Ford does not have have any top rated teams in the state of Kentucky at any level as well except perhaps the 14's when Jackson and Euton play in their right levels.

Has South Laurel played in any tournaments yet?If so when and where? How did they do?

RAO9-You seem to know a lot about these teams.Could you tell us about any players that play for the Eddie Ford teams(Other than the ones previously mentioned).

I believe South Laurel played in bci tournament in Florence last weekend and were beaten by kentucky shining stars, but I'm not sure at what level they got beat

dang, you continue to impress me with your knowledge !(outside of 16th of course) now forget the team rankings, , can you tell me does Eddie Ford have a top ten player in the state of Kentucky on his 17u? I agree the team with Euton and Jackson would be his "best" team, but after that , does he have a real competitive team? Seems like there were a lot fo 30/40 point losses in the Boo

Williams tournament, so either he got a lot better or the quality of competion decreased this week?

Decreased competition is the answer. I will look at the individual talent, Ford does not have any of the Top 10 players on the 17's. Those belong to the DS Allstars with one defecting to the D1 Greyhounds 17's.

Exception is Matt Walls of Scott County with Eddie Ford.

What age group does Euton play in? Last year when I watched them he played 13U to win championship. Then tried 14U and didn"t do so great.

Euton tried the 16 under and has not fared well this year. From what I was informed, Euton was playing in the 14 under division this past weekend for Eddie Ford along with Chase Jackson again. Euton will be outstanding down the road, needs footspeed to play at the higher levels.

Don't know what Preston Knowles is ranked..but he should be in the top 10.

Eddie Ford has a really good player out of Ohio. The word around the tournament is that he is only ranked behind OJ and Bill in that class. There were several colleges coaches there this weekend to watch him (Bob Huggins, Cinn. coach, Marquette coach, Xavier coach, etc.).

All I really know is about the 16th region players and a couple of the other kids on thier team. I havent really said much about the Junior-to-team (Crawford, Hundley, Stewart) but I do know they have been very competetive despite losing most of thier games. I konw the senior teams done well this weekend. Matt Walls had a great tournament and really bosted his stock. Im sure he will get some call from the coaches that seen him this weekend. But like I said earlier, Im really only keeping up with the 16th region kids and how thier teams are doing.

THAT IS Dante Jackson from up around Chillicothe area I think, there is a big gap between him and oj, but he is a very good player

Was this Chase or Chad Jackson? I thought Euton and Chad Jackson played for the Patriots team near Cincinnati. Are they playing on both teams this year? Jackson really impressed me last year at KBA. They could really help any team they played on.
