I'm really tired of these protesters! Protesting ever before any info comes out. You have a gun and your hands are on it when near the police, you will be killed.

Yet his mother, who wasn't there, says he would have never had a gun, as he was trying to get his life back together.

The facts don't matter to the protesters. Don't really know if you could call these protesters. More like an angry mob.

 

I had read about this early this morning and watched videos. Just didn't feel like starting another thread on something that will get blown out of proportion.

 

It's really sad that a young man uses very poor judgement in pulling a gun on police officers. This leaves the officers no choice but to use deadly force.

It's almost hilarious if it wasn't sad all the Internet conspiracy theorist who are claiming the gun was planted and breaking the video down frame by frame . There is actual video proof and isn't enough.

 

The "protestors" don't believe the video. I'm so worn out anymore this is going nowhere.

All of this is going to get really ugly if something doesn't happen soon to stop this kind of stuff. If this continues through spring, things are really going to heat up across the country. I just don't understand why anyone would point a gun at a police officer and expect not to get shot, unless that's the outcome they're wanting from the onset.

If you pull a gun on a police office, you will be shot. It's not a difficult concept to understand.

This again isn't about race, it's about crime...but of course that doesn't matter.

I'm with PP92 that I think things are going to get worse before they get better. At one time I felt it would blow over but that's not the case anymore.

 

Something big is on the horizon. I don't know what exactly but it is coming. My gut tells me once these protests/riots spill into middle class neighborhoods we are going to see some bad stuff.

 

Also a site I read mediaite.Com didn't help matters by their headline today about the video of the shooting.

The problem is we let the protest get out of control, period! Most are peaceful, but last night? If you are in the middle of a mob you are going to be treated as part of the mob. After the explosion or whatever that was, all bets are off, clear the area anyway you see fit.

 

It's for a different thread, but in NYC, if you throw things at officers all bets should be off. But where you have some coward sucker punching an officer? It's time to put a tight grip on the protest.

If people see the video and STILL protest they're going to hurt the greater cause .

This post makes your screen name seem like false advertisment.

I think the CCTV footage is more ambiguous than many are letting on.* From what I've read, people there are saying that there are 2-3 more security cameras much closer to where the shooting occurred than the one that captured the released footage, that the officer was equipped with a body camera (and either wasn't wearing it, didn't turn it on, or that there is no footage), and that the car's dash camera was either not on or the footage is not available. I have no idea how true any of that is, but it seems like a recipe for disaster in this environment.

 

*I am not alleging the officer did anything wrong, just that this video is extremely difficult to make-out.
