December 15, 201411 yr Every year it's the same routine, I don't really care if I get anything or not but the kids always ask me what I want and the reply is always "Nothing" yet they feel obligated to get me something. I really don't care if I get anything or not, I just enjoy giving more than anything. So when I finally break down and give them idea's it's usually something like some new tools or something along those lines. This year after being asked about a dozen times from my oldest daughter I finally told her a new kitchen garbage can that I saw that she bought for their new house, it's actually a nice size and has the automatic top that opens by motion detector and it was fairly cheap at Sams club. We want a new kitchen garbage can that has a lid on it because one of our dogs likes getting things out of it when it is full enough to the top that he can grab things. so basically if they get me anything I enjoy practical things but they think those things are stupid and I hardly get what I actually could use. So I was curious what you all asked your kids to get you this year.
December 15, 201411 yr Last year the kids got me one of those wall frame photo collages that has spots for several photos of various sizes. So this year I want the kids to actually put pictures in said photo collage. (Yes--it never made it on the wall. Still empty.)
December 15, 201411 yr The wife always gets me something pretty cool from the kids. She gives me the look every year and says I always go overboard when giving gifts. I have always got a kick out of giving people big gifts.
December 15, 201411 yr All I want is to be done with the fluff on time enough to go watch American Sniper.
December 15, 201411 yr I don't really need anything and don't want the gf or her daughters going out buying me stuff...but they do anyway. So I just tell them a box of golf balls. So what if I end up playing with Top Flight XL's for a while at the first of the season.:idunno:
December 15, 201411 yr I usually like to get something for the house for my mom and dad rather than individual gifts. So much easier.
December 15, 201411 yr I asked for 2 things this year: a new pair of rain boots and a leaf blower. Sounds simple, right?! It won't be.

Ever since we had kids, I always got the biggest thrill watching them open gifts, still the same even after they are all grown up...just like giving.
