I honestly don't want anything. I'm so excited at what I'm giving this year, and I don't have anything I want or need. Well, maybe a UL License plate. My daughter and her fiance are going to be closing on a house in January, so I'm giving them part of their down payment. My son's new house has no fence, so I'm giving them part of the money to build a privacy fence.

I just went to the Ragin Cajun's book store online and ordered you a UL License Plate, the University of Louisiana plate should be there by Christmas

This is me! But I have a problem...I want to give it to them as soon as I buy because I get so excited!

My dad is right around retirment age, and he buys whatever he wants or needs. Last year he got a new truck so I paid to get his windows tented, still hasn't happened.

I tell my Mom and Dad each year I don't need anything. Every year I usually end up with the same from each.

Mom: Oakley Sunglasses & Cologne

Dad: Cologne, some clothes that I usually return, etc.

I like others would much rather give than receive, but I've yet to buy the first gift.

Well I think every year I ask for a handful of books and records. I often get a gift certificate or two to Shake It Records as well. This year I'm really hoping for this, though. It's an art tile from Rookwood Pottery, and it's a scaled down version of the Great American Ballpark bas relief sculpture facing west on Second Street. I think it's one of the coolest parts of the ballpark, and the moment I found out they were making the tile I started telling my wife how much I wanted it. I want to build a wood frame around it and hang it on the wall.

The season for me has always been about being a provider and giving unconditionally to others. This is the first year in a while there is "somewhat" of a need. My family knows that I cook a lot better when I'm listening to music. I really enjoy cooking for my family. Our under the kitchen cabinet radio/cd player is on the fritz and apparently my cooking quality is as well...:lol2:

 

Cd player broke within the last three months and we are eating too much carry out! So for the welfare of our family food intake, and good health. We'll be purchasing a new radio/cd player for the kitchen.

 

Have purchased a lot of gifts so far this month on amazon.com for family and it has been great. Haven't stepped foot in a mall for years!!! Have a few books, some clothes, and baseball gear for my son to purchase and I'll be done with Christmas shopping...:thumb:

 

Can't go wrong with books, cds, dvds.
