Tough question, not a clear cut answer. I think Bw was but WB played a better game against us. To me it was hard for Mf to take WB with the same intensity they did BW. After last years beat down and the schedule WB played this year I honestly expected a fairly easy win. To further compound this, everyone from Pikeville to Fulton had already crowned us champs. I liken it to the Mf Russellville game 1. Now I know I will catch 9 kinds of crap for those statements but that is from the heart. Let me replay WB and I don't think the game is anywhere near as close just as the rematch with Russellville was not. Further, there is no way WB could make some of those freak plays again like they did in that game. They made some plays, like 2 of those catches that were circus stuff.

Corey Shelton has been making those catches since he was in the 8th grade, that was one reason no one on the team seemed real excited because they have seen Corey do it so many times before...Business as usual...I witnessed one similar when he was a 8th grader, remember thinking he is going to be a special player...

I am not a Mayfield fan so no comment on the question. However, I will comment on some of the assessments of Beechwood and say if there is a better linebacker than Brett Slusher on Williamsburg's team, please let me see the highlight reel because there will be some spectacular stuff on it.

Cry me a river rookie. You get upset when people say Williamsburg outplayed Mayfield even thought they led virtually every category other then the final score then you cry about people not liking Mayfield.

Somerset plays Beechwood and Williamsburg next year, so I'll give my opinion in about 11 months.

 

Of course that won't decide this years question.

and he did turn out to be special, he is now friends with some of our players, they traded off contacts after the game and the Mf guys said he is a heck of a nice guy as well

I feel like WB played their best game of the year, basing that on seeing the one game . Hard to imagine that they could make some of those plays game in and game out. And Mayfield seemed a bit down, not sharp in that game. Due to WB getting after it.

Hard to decide, but sitting the stands for the BW game, I never felt worried about it, BW just didn't seem explosive. I was nervous in the WB game, because they demonstrated the desire to make plays plus the ability to do. So I will go with WB for that reason.

I agree with you, i was not as nervous during the BW game as I was the WB game. Both teams are very good, and have strengths in different areas> I felt WB was more explosive though, and were never out of the game.

So it looks like the last few MF fans say WB was much better.
