Every town has their own village idiot and we have clearly identified ours I think. His post(s) certainly are not the overwhelming opinion of the majority of us (Mayfield fans). As for the original question, it is tough to say because we have come to respect the Beechies over the years and they certainly gave us a game again this year, but like others have said, I was never really in a panic for that game. However, WB had me REALLY worried about five minutes into the game. Having not seen much of either team other than when we played them, I gotta give the nod to the Burg. I was concerned all week that the players were overlooking them like so many fans seemed to be and within five minutes of kickoff my fears came true. WB came to freaking play and regardless of what everybody says about him making catches like that all the time, that one handed snag in the end zone was one of the best catches I have ever seen at any level....and I'm old and seen a lot of football. Not a knock against Beechwood, I have the utmost respect for their program, but WB scared the pooh out of me...literally.

Beechwood as I said earlier was the better team. I liked Beechwoods athletes better. BW running back Consistently gashed Mayfield for big yards...WB RB wasn't that impressive to me. If WB receivers don't make those over the top catches which likely wouldn't happen again (because you see catches even in the pro's like that just a few times a year) then Mayfield has their blowout. BW seemed to be the kind of team that could beat you without any crazy catches or big plays. I think BW puts together consistent performance every play...I just dont think WB could do that again. Its like when teams play the KY wildcats at basketball ..... Everyone plays their best game against them and cant do it twice in a row.

I think the difference in the 2 was behind center.. WBurgs QB had a much stronger arm, better accuracy, better wheels, made better decisions and played with more confidence and swagger.. Beechwood's RBs were better and they were a little better on the DL and about even on the OL.. Every other category, I'd go with W'Burg.. WRs, LBs, DBs, special teams, team speed & athleticism all favored W'Burg..
