Arnett missed open receivers, up the seam, he always seemed to hit during the season + the Jackets played to some of our weaknesses like no one else had done all season. Execution, I'd take Williamsburg. Better overall players to Beechwood. Put 'em together and you have a way to beat Mayfield.

Williamsburg is a FLUKE team that played a FLUKE schedule(because east side of the state sucks) Then when they get to state played the absolute best game they could throw at Mayfield and still lost. I am not a Mayfield fan so no comment on the question. However, I will comment on some of the assessments of Beechwood and say if there is a better linebacker than Brett Slusher on Williamsburg's team, please let me see the highlight reel because there will be some spectacular stuff on it.

 

jefferson patrick #25 for Williamsburg would be hard to beat. (played state game injured with turf toe still put up the #'s) The young man is just an animal, over 100 tackles a year and 150+ one of those years.

This is one of those questions that there is no way to really justify the answer to. I will agree that both did have different aspects of their game that affected us better than the other. I know for a fact though that our boys didn't take the Williamsburg game as seriously as they should until we got punched right square in the mouth. I know this because I spent a week trying to convince one that he better play his best game. I don't think he ever believed me until the scoreboard showed us down by 10. I will say this though. If we got down to Beechwood by 2 scores, we would not have rebounded.

And it was a question FOR MF fans, some of who said it was a good question.

If Beechwood was better than Williamsburg then why did they not play Mayfield any closer.. Williamsburg was dang good and was the 2nd best team in class A and so close to being number 1 it's not funny.. But Beechwood is the 3rd best.
