Chase Phillips from Lincoln County is the best freshman I have seen so far from the 45th District.

 

Danny Butts and Steven Fitzgerald of Southwestern and Trevon Faulkner of Mercer County are three of the best I have seen from the 12th Region.

 

Fitzgerald is only a freshman?!?! That kid is going to be really good.

Doesn't Christian County have a really good freshman? Or am I thinking of another WKY school?

 

You may be thinking of Jalen Johnson for Hoptown. Coach Haworth states he is the best freshman he has ever had, that is saying a lot.

Somewhere down the road the big boy from CCH will be tough to handle. 9 blocks Saturday. Still not in game shape due to foot injury. Still learning how to play high school hard. When he does....

Didnt get names but wad told there will be 5 freshmen playing for Travelers 16u this yea...I know one is Bayley Rice of North Laurel. Surprised nobody has mentioned him yet. He has some work to do but very skilled around the rim.

I would be willing to bet most of these players being mentioned have been held back a year at some point. Butt and Fitzgerald are going to be very good players. Faulkner has the skills and potential to be a great one before he graduates. Sloan and Baby J from Boyle both need to get alot stronger but they have the potential to be very good. I haven't seen the Phillips kid from Lincoln. Looking forward to checking him out

What I like 3 of the 5 played for AAU Legends if us parents would of been thinking and put them all at the same high school domination of the 9th Region

Agree, Kunkel has a bright future a head of him. I like the way he moves with and without the ball, he sees the floor and shares the ball a lot.

It was said to be Coach Dawn's grandson.. That family must breed point guards. Guessing he will step in for his cousin Z. Pangallo after he graduates.

Mercer County - Trevon Faulkner

12th Region

 

Isaiah Garrison plays AAU ball with Trevon, and couldn't imagine him not being one of if not the best incoming Freshman. Good Job Trevon!

Exactly right. Butt and Fitzgerald are two year hold backs. I believe they started school late. Both are already 16 years old in the 9th grade. Glad to see they are playing varsity and doing well. Both are good kids. Wish them well this season.
