November 30, 201411 yr I am going to throw a name out there. Eddie Gran who is the play caller for Tommy Tuberville at the University of Cincinnati. Cracker-jack recruiter with extensive south Florida connections.
November 30, 201411 yr Interesting...is there anyone on Oklahoma's staff that would be a good candidate?
December 1, 201411 yr All I can say is the new OC better bring in some offensive lineman that can hold up better against the SEC d lines and linebackers. You can have the best game plan in the world, but if two or three defensive players are in the backfield at the snap almost every play, not going to get much accomplished.

I like Hinshaw, he broke Darin Slack's records when he played at UCF. Funny that Slack and Hinshaw are the only two people I know that spell their first name that way and both played qb at UCF.
December 1, 201411 yr Here are the candidates: Lincoln Riley: ECU Offensive Coordinator (in my mind, the most likely) (very coveted and would be a home run hire) (only trouble is if Clemson comes calling now that Morris is at SMU) Chris Hatcher: Murray St Head Coach (reportedly at the game on UK's sideline Saturday) (fans would not like this hire as he has never recruited or coached further than the FCS level) Eddie Gran: Cincinnati Offensive Coordinator (2nd most likely in my opinion, already has been stated why he would be good, but I think it would be hard to get him out of Tuberville's staff) Tim Beck: Former Nebraska Offensive Coordinator (different kind of offense with more running but would bring in quite a haul recruiting) (knows Stoops from back in the day) James Coley: Miami Offensive Coordinator (would be a good hire and recruits very well) (might have some flips if he were hired)

IF they do continue running it, I think Hatcher would be a great choice as would Lincoln Riley.
December 1, 201411 yr If he doesn't bring Hinshaw there is no reason to hire him. Hinshaw is the brains behind the cinci offense.

What I've been telling people all day long here at work. Two reasons why Neal Brown left. That one....OR......he knew it was time to get out and saw the ceiling. They weren't going to make a bigger jump in Wins and/or offensive production in the near future than they did from 2013 to this year.
December 1, 201411 yr Lord knows I have no insight or information about this hire but my gut tells me its Gran or Hatcher. The ECU guy probably ends up at Clemson otherwise he would be my guess.
December 1, 201411 yr Looks like Coley is their guy as reported by 247Sports. Wanted the job the first time around but Stoops was influenced to choose Neal Brown. These are rumblings though so it is not set in stone.
