Interesting you would comment that Highlands hasn't played Trinity or X or BG. Based upon your analysis Elder or Cincinnati St. X or CC of Miami, Fla., wouldn't qualify as quality opponents? I dare say any of those 3 would be prohibitive favorites over Cooper. I would go so far as to say CC would compete very well against the KY "big 4". Like every school at every level Highlands plays district opponents and therefore cannot schedule only 6A schools as it seems you are advocating. My last comment is you cannot question the success of Highlands particularly where they play out of class size, a couple of opponents, every year and continue to add to their state championship runs.

I was comenting in Oldbirds post referring to cooper in 2012 basically saying they weren't any good and didn't play anyone. Look at who they beat that year including the playoffs. Again you can talk about who Highlands plays all you want but last I checked they didnt play Trinity or X or Male etc so keep all your out of state schools out if the conversation since you are going to rip Cooper's 2912 team then before doing so try playing some in state powerhouses first.

I could see JH and Cooper 2A and 2B in the class. Can't convince me JH was better and I can't be convinced Cooper was better. They never played each other. Cooper was way underrated going I to the title game and I think even after turning the ball over on their first 2 offensive plays and handed BG the lead off the bat still hung tougher than anyone outside Cooper thought.

I agree with this. BG needed a last second hook and lateral to beat JH. That said, Cooper was a very good team in 2012.

They have made the finals because of the setup, but they were not better than a John Hardin team whose only loss was also to Bowling Green which required a perfect trick play and two point conversion in the final minute to win it.

I hear you on that, it is truly just opinions. And of course you all wanted John Hardin to win. Why in God's name would you want to play a Bowling Green team that was the defending champs? I'd have rather any team but BG been in Warren Central's way in 2011 and 2012, but yet, there we were.

If I remember correctly first game in playoffs against the prior year state final team Anderson Co who was avg something like 40+ pts a game, and Cooper beat them something like 48-0. They also had to beat So Oldham 1st of 3 straight 1 seeds they faced and beat. And beat So Oldham for the 2nd time that year. They then traveled to Ryan Timmons Franklin Co team who avg'd iver 60pts a game the entire season including post season and Cooper then handed them their 1st loss and also held

them to the lowest or total FC had the entire year. They then headed to Harland Co to take in the best running team I truly believe that entire year in any class and after allowing an opening drive TD then held Harlan out of the endZone the rest of the game to earn the title game. Every post season game was in the road because of the idiotic way KHSAA does tie breakers. 5 weeks in a row they had to play away.

I was trying to help you out since you did the research. Look at my first post about this and I stated in that post To look at the playoff teams they played. You only looked at the regular season who we have no control over who we play in district play. That's all I asked anyone to do is look at the post seasons games and teams, they were pretty darn good teams
