No Indictment in Ferguson Case

I think he was more of a threat. He's shown that he's nuts enough to indiscriminately shoot up 70 people, to plan it to the point that he wears body armor to avoid being hit and throws tear gas to get tons of targets confused and easier to pick off, and is insane enough to booby trap his apartment knowing people will come looking for evidence. That's a guy on a suicide mission whose only objective is to maximize a body count.

I don't think there's a prosecutor or jury in the world that would have convicted someone, officer or not, who decide to fill him with lead.

This is not the Wild West.

I wouldn't lose any sleep if they did. That's been my point.

Now I am really confused JW. You are OK with the cops executing someone because they committed a terrible crime (but when not in danger) but are NOT OK with the cops defending themselves in a situation where they feel they are in danger. Wow...

I don't even understand your point . So you wanted the cops in Colorado to break the law ?

You like to ignore certain things. First, the police didn't know anyone said the gun was likey fake. It doesn't matter anyways because they're not required to wait until shots are fired in their direction before they defend themselves.

Understand that, but the fact that the gun was fake is kind of a failure of the system that isn't really something that was entirely in the kid's control.

We'd say that lots of the blame would fall on 911 operators and that they should have been more observant and relayed a better message if they sent EMT's into a situation where a caller said that someone was armed and dangerous, but that message hadn't gotten relayed to the EMT's and one of them ended up being harmed.

After seeing what happened to

the truck driver in LA with the Rodney King riots I would

obeu the speed limit and not stop.

I was thinking of him as well when I saw it, Reginal (sp) Denny

You are ignoring a lot that I've already pointed out.

1.) They didn't know how many people he killed.

2.) They didn't know about the apartment when they arrested him.

3.) They didn't know about the gas when they arrested him.

CBS News releases some photos of Wilson's "injuries".

His orbital bone didn't seem to be in the state that was reported.

Now protesters are blocking an interstate

Same thing in Oakland.

A failure of the system??? In what way?

It's tragic but the kid should have listened to the officer. He shouldn't have reached for a fake gun that looks just like a real gun.

I honestly have no clue.

The 911 operator was just reporting what he or she had heard on the call. Even if the operator had gotten the message to the police that they "thought" it was a fake gun, the cops cannot assume it is.

Which is irrelevant when it comes to whether or not he was justified.

Many reports from the beginning that claimed Brown was "executed in broad daylight" with his hands in the air were wrong also. In fact those reports had no evidence to support them. Wilson did have swelling in his face according to the grand jury report right?
