Number of boys at SW was 564 last year; with 171 in the freshman class (largest class of the four by far). Compare to these schools and their alignment for the next 4 years:

That is because the KHSAA used a 4 year average to determine the next 4 year alignment. In the past they have used a 2 year average, which would havep ut SW in 5A, but the 4 year average put them in 4A.

The state in its infinite wisdom used a 4 year enrollment average rather than a 2 year. It is very possible that SW currently has more kids but when you average the past 4 years, the average is less. Especially since SW is a new school.

Well, I can't really agree not disagree with you on this. DoubleTake is only person I ever hear talk about SW on BGP and out in the community.

2010-2011 was their first year open and while they had seniors, it was a diminished class. I believe as per usual around here the seniors were given the option of staying at their previous school.

Yea it's only DoubleTake on BGP, but playing them and seeing their fan base in person has given me a strong disdain for that program. Their new coach has the same persona as the old one who I had a strong dislike for as well... IMO they will never be close to BG in stature or "class"...
