SvFan4life Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 After the targeting hit today and not seeing his offensive line come to his defense it makes me wonder. You better believe that if it was another top team with a QB they'd come to his help. After the Miss. State game this team and offense hit the wall. They went from explosive to dud and no rhythm. What say you all?
D-Rob Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 The offenses problems begin and end with Neal Brown IMO. He just doesn't seem to gameplan for defenses and his throw the ball short strategy may have worked in the Big 12 but SEC defenses are eating it alive.
John Anthony Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Barker with no experience next year, good luck.

Neal Brown deserves some blame but he is not the main problem. Game plans mean very little when you can't block or catch a pass.
SvFan4life Posted November 16, 2014 Author Posted November 16, 2014 Barker with no experience next year, good luck. Huh? Not saying Towles shouldn't be the QB but it's a legit question after today. Don't think Barker could potentially do much better.
Bengal Maniac Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 OL/DL is their problem, plain and simple. Just not SEC caliber.
mexitucky Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 UK won't reach top offensive levels unless UK finds SEC caliber offensive tackles.

You better believe that if it was another top team with a QB they'd come to his help. After the Miss. State game this team and offense hit the wall. They went from explosive to dud and no rhythm. What say you all? I think your narrative/theory is 100% incorrect. I didn't see the penalty nor the lack of reaction by the teammates. However, even if they HATED their QB they HAVE to defend a teammate. So the lack of response is on them and quite disappointing. Has nothing to do with trusting or liking PT. The offense is not clicking for various reasons - most of them we're not smart enough to figure out even though we post like we are. PT has had an up and down season. Unlike many I do not think he has the QB1 spot locked up for next season. He'll have to win it.
plantmanky Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Barker with no experience next year, good luck. Wouldnt surprise me if Barker isnt at UK next year.
Clyde Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Wouldnt surprise me if Barker isnt at UK next year. Very curious as to what you could possibly base this on.
The sarge Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Too young fellas. I said at the beginning of the season they were two years out and still feel the same. Inconsistency is their biggest problem which is typical of a young team. They still have needs and tight end and/or possession type receiver who can run disciplined routes over the middle.
Builder1214 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 The Cats are years away from being good. They are young and not overly talented at the skill positions. I also wonder how much influence Stoops is having over the offense. IMO, this offense looks nothing like the offense that Brown ran at Texas Tech. Brown also didn't have to reinvent the wheel at Texas Tech because the Air Raid was already installed by Leach. Defense is not very good either. Offense starts to press the issue when you have to score every time you get the ball because you can't stop anyone.
LOOGY Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 This team needs more players like PT, he hurt his ankle pretty bad, got it taped up, could hardly walk and went right back in to be taken out. Then he went to he locker room for treatment, and played all out all night. Then he takes a cheap shot to the head and gets right back up. The kid is a gamer, and if more players were like him UK would be bowl eligible.
swamprat Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Do you think Stoops/Brown would have him out there, if they didn't trust him? If so, why?
CoachBuckett Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 After the Mizzu game I thought Brown had lost trudt in the QB spot just because they didnt throw it much. I think Cat fans expected the return of Hal Mumme style of Throwing 75% of the time. A lot of points. I just think Stoops being a defensive coach likes to ball control offense. Run more than throw. That is typical defensive head coaches do. They want the defense to decide the outcome.
