After the Mizzu game I thought Brown had lost trudt in the QB spot just because they didnt throw it much.

 

I think Cat fans expected the return of Hal Mumme style of Throwing 75% of the time. A lot of points. I just think Stoops being a defensive coach likes to ball control offense. Run more than throw.

 

That is typical defensive head coaches do. They want the defense to decide the outcome.

 

If this is the case, he is the polar opposite of his brother Bob Stoops and will not be nearly as successful.

Do you think Stoops/Brown would have him out there, if they didn't trust him? If so, why?

I know most probably don't agree but from what I've watched anytime a QB is hit with a dirty play or something along those lines the offensive line usually comes to his aid. Didn't happen in this instance.

 

It could be nothing but it could also be something. With the way this team has played lately, including the offense, it wouldn't surprise me at all.

I don't know what it is...it's intangible and not really something you can necessarily pinpoint...but to me PT just doesn't have a "command" presence on the field that you look for in a confident qb. Anybody get that same feeling?

In part, Towles is playing because he is there only rushing game and gives them the best chance to win. The offense is predicated upon being able to pass the ball and force defenses to stop the pass. This opens up the run lanes for the backs. The inability to protect the QB and pass effectively has hampered the run game. The problem is more that the QB although the QB tends to get blamed for losses.

Neil Brown said it best in his interview today. Each offensive position group has not played well at the same time with enough consistently. example when o-line protects receivers don't get open. When receivers get open the Qb misses the throw etc...

Not at all, but I have been watching him for 6 seasons. Seems this whole team lacks confidence and fire. The O-LINE has been handled by the 3 good SEC Dlines, and every SEC opponent has run on them at will. This is a young team in shambles. The bye couldn't come at a better time.

I predict major changes next season for the CATS. ALL positions will be open to competition. This will be a good thing.
